I've never handed in more than one resignation at a time, but this week was different: resigning two part-time jobs for one full-time job. It's going to be a new industry (damage restoration), but I'll be learning a ton and gaining industry experience. Along the way, I'll meet new people, see new problems to solve, gain experience that will open other doors, and go through new doors to yet other opportunities. I'll be crawling through foul substances, documenting household disasters, swinging a hammer, wielding a crowbar, and learning how to dry things really really fast. If it's not what you know but who you know, I know someone in this field and he was hiring. I'll learn what the company's policies are about what I can say about cases I'll be dealing with, but I'll probably be telling stories from House A or something like that so you can track what story it is but keep information private. So yeah. that's happening. #learning #networking #problemsolving #industryexperience

Girl Dad (x2) | Global B2B/SaaS Solutions Architect | Navigating Success with Diplomacy for Companies and Prospects
I couldn't agree more. While it might not be immediately apparent from my profile, I've spent 12 years working alongside the same group of business owners across several of their projects. I believe a tenure extending beyond a decade holds more value than just a few years of experience. Are there still companies that value this outlook? #ProfessionalGrowth #LongTermCommitment #opentowork
TIL that the average job tenure these days is just 2 years. That's crazy. I'm looking to spend 10 years in my next job. Yes, TEN. Aside from my most recent role (which was a stopgap role after a layoff) my average tenure in a role is around five years. Maybe that's because I've been promoted everywhere I've worked, making things feel fresh again and resetting the tenure clock? I like the idea in becoming a maestro in a company's business, and becoming part of the institutional intelligence of the place. Maybe that's old-fashioned. But it feels right to me. Anyone else?

Unfortunately, there are so many of us experiencing the same as Diana because in the last year and a half the market for many industries changed drastically in many ways. There are so many factors involved: recall of the remote workforce back to the office, budget cuts within many companies, red flags of recession waving vigorously in our economy, more strict and specialized qualifications for applicants, political reasons, etc. Even within our own industry of Talent Acquisition, Human Resources and Marketing, the market has become extremely different as well as difficult. Moving contract to contract and being laid off once the role is complete has become the norm as well as a huge stressor. If the personnel managing the hiring processes are unable to secure employment - that is surely a sign of what we are dealing with. Let's get back to utilizing our network to reach out and assist each other and I mean REALLY try. Especially those of us in Talent Acquisition - isn't supposed to be the passion that drives us that do this job? I have almost 4K connections here on LinkedIn. Don't just like the post, please also share it as well as comment if you have leads! 🤗 Even better, review her profile and ping her if you have any suitable openings! Happy one year unemployment anniversary to me! 💝 Exactly one year ago yesterday I was laid off after entering an impromptu teams meeting. 😁 I'll never forget the ping I got at 10 AM from a random hire up that I'm sure never even knew I even existed until that fateful moment. Yes!!! What you're reading is correct!! :-) I'm choosing to view this milestone with pride rather than embarrassment because I really have no other choice! This past year has taught me growth in ways I would have never experienced if I was clocking in 9 AM - 6 PM Mon through Fri. I look forward to seeing what this next year has to offer whether it's a new role with a great company or more exciting adventures in unemployment. 🏆 🥇 Cheers!! 🍻
