As an accomplished author and innovative entrepreneur, I am deeply passionate about exploring and advancing the synergy between Generative AI technologies and the transformative principles of Dr. Edwards Deming.
Join Patrick Debois and some of my other good #DevOps friends on Januanry 24th this month for a DevOps for GenAI Hackathon in NYC. We will be focusing on use cases specifically for #DevOps #DevOps and #SRE using orchestration tools like #Langchain and #MonoDB Vector Search for #RAG. We will also work on LLM observability (Evaluations) examples using tools like, but not limited to, #Langsmith. I can promise you own thing... It will be a blast. https://lnkd.in/e4bjf3Fy

I use technical empathy to supercharge collaboration. Empathy-Driven Development • CTO, Heartware • co-founder, Corgibytes • Legacy Code Rocks • Empathy in Tech
When LeadDev asked me what #DevOps teams need to focus on in 2024, here’s what I said: “DevOps teams should get back to the fundamentals by investing in organizational cultures that support its practices. This requires a holistic approach, such as the SPACE framework, to actively counteract the reductionist temptation to pin problems on individual contributors or tie success to a single magic metric. DevOps has always been about developers and operations working together – and it’s more important than ever not to lose sight of that.” How about you? What are your thoughts?

I'm teaching a DevOps class today, and one of the slides on culture discusses the need to make data-driven decisions rather than emotionally based decisions. I believe that rather than relying exclusively on either gut feelings or data to drive our decisions, we should combine intuition and experience with an analysis of evidence to make data-informed decisions. To illustrate the wisdom of combining those two decision-supporting methods, I referred to Jane Austen's literary works from the early 1800's, which show that this way of thinking is well-established and not just some new management fad. I hope that my daughter (who is a fan of Jane Austen) would be proud of me for having done so. #janeausten #devops #culture #datainformed

Senior Director of DevOps & SRE @ Kissflow | Integrating Netflix DevOps Culture & Google SRE Practices to Empower Our Engineering Team 🚀🔧
Hey All, As I mentioned before, I'm all about hands-on learning by doing and then connecting the dots through reading (Entrepreneur & Business Biographies are my jam), stumbling upon engineering blogs, watching techno-functional webinars, and geeking out over conferences. But online courses? Not really my thing. 😅 You might remember when I shared my OKR Certification story—yeah, the one I did because it’s taught by the OKR legend himself, John Doerr. Respect for the guy who brought OKRs into our world 🌍, and Ryan Panchadsaram made it a no-brainer. So, here's the fun part. I was following one of my idols, Patrick Debois (aka the Father of DevOps, though he humorously dislikes that title now 😉). This guy's been diving into GenAI-powered DevSecOps, and it got me all curious. That curiosity led me to Andrew Ng's talk at Stanford. From there, I went down the rabbit hole, found his course 'Generative AI for Everyone,' and thought, "Why not?" What a game-changer! 💡 I had all these thoughts, ideas, and questions about GenAI, and this course helped me connect all those dots. I started the course as an auditor on Coursera, but by the end, I was so hooked that I paid for it, crushed all the assignments, and graduated with a cool 90%. Pretty neat, right? 🎓 But wait, there's more! This course didn't just answer my questions; it supercharged my mission to explore GenAI-powered DevSecOps, just like Patrick. Now, I'm more pumped than ever! Watch out for Team DevOps @ Kissflow—we're about to make some serious noise with GenAI (Em)Powered DevSecOps! 🚀 Onwards and upwards, folks! A quick shoutout to the legends: Patrick Debois, always pushing the DevOps envelope 🛠️; John Doerr, the Silicon Valley maestro 🎩; Ryan, the OKR guru 📊; and Andrew NG, the AI pioneer 👨💻. These guys are the Avengers of their fields! Stay tuned, everyone! We're just getting started! 😎 #devops #generativeai #ai #devsecops #kissflow #howKissflowDoesDevops

Can Infrastructure Have Feelings Too? Yesterday, our team gathered to reflect on our #copilot journey. One detail that caught my attention was Daniel Ostrovsky consistent reference to “her” during his explanation of the fine-tuning process. This piqued my curiosity, leading me to ask, “Who is ‘she’?” Without hesitation, he clarified - “she” was the co-pilot bot. Being part of the fine-tuning, training, and engineering journey over the past few months, it dawned on me why his intuition was so spot-on. Unlike traditional software programming projects, there’s a deeply personal aspect involved with any co-pilot or AI-based project. The outcome largely hinges on the amount of attention and nurturing invested in the process. This approach humanizes what was once considered a niche, geeky domain. Like any human, it requires constant love and care, and the rewards can be both positive and challenging, adding to its beauty. On that note, I’d like to highlight a recent #genai project close to my heart - "DevOps made easy with #genai". The project aimed to simplify the complex and often tedious world of #DevOps automaton work, transforming it into something anyone can engage with. I’m thrilled to share that our team achieved a significant milestone on this project. We managed to navigate the entire journey from the initial exploration phase (asking for examples on Stack Overflow, reading documentation...) to actual coding with a pre-trained co-pilot assistant. The backstory, which I previously shared in my post “Hackathon Under Fire”, is equally intriguing (https://lnkd.in/e8zw47fC) . I’m proud to announce that a few weeks after writing that post, our team clinched victory in the global hackathon project. Rachel Shalom penned a blog post providing more technical insights into the actual project and the decisions made to select the right model. She discusses what worked and also what didn’t. I highly recommend giving it a a close read: https://lnkd.in/eTpaw7q8 Lastly, I’d like to seize this opportunity to express my gratitude to Paul Perez for spearheading the #DellHackathon. In my opinion, it’s been a fantastic platform for discovering the myriad of innovations being developed by various teams that I might not have known about otherwise. And Daniel Cummins who was my personal mentor through this process. #DellGenAi #iwork4dell #Hackathon #Resilience #TeamSpirit #Innovation #DellHackathon 🌈 Project team: Rachel Shalom, Adam Terramel, Yaniv Kaplan , Yonit Lopatinski , UI Team: Meir Hadad, Yehonatan Arad, Nely Nehemia cc: Daniel Cummins), Gil Shneorson, William Biester, Pierluca Chiodelli, Jeff White, Eli Rosenes, Alexander Molev, Amihai Savir 3of30responses

"DevOps is about removing the friction between silos. All the rest is engineering." -- Patrick Debois What better way to consider the rise of #PlatformEngineering and its friction or facilitation of #DevOps than to talk to the godfather of the concept? Here's HALF my QnA with Patrick, who not only spurred the DevOps movement, but also founded one of the most wonderful and inclusive event series in #DevOpsDays. In another post earlier this month, I also included Patrick's newest obsession #GenAI #GenerativeAI. After all, these three movements are all about making developers happier in their jobs to unlock flow state and #DeveloperProductivity, right? Thanks The New Stack for including this conversation and VMware Tanzu for sponsoring it. #DevEx https://lnkd.in/eUS9wpMh
