Holding camera for the first time... So yeah, again it's part of my internship. Recently I went for shooting products of a brand with my team and I got the opportunity to hold the camera in my hands for the first time, was really good experience if I ignore the fact- "my hands were shaking while taking the shots". Whenever my friends used to say take the photo from right angle, left angle, light is not good, the photo is blur, expressions are not good - I used to ignore them, saying, who cares as long as you get the picture you want, usually people do same, Did you also say the same? If you did and still you do, I would say stop. These things really matter today's digital time. If I hadn't ignored them. I wouldn't need to give my extra time learning these basic things- Lighting- If possible use natural light, if using artificial lights avoid harsh shadows by making sure your lighting setup is correct. Background- Use plain and clean background to ensure product stands out, choosing the background that compliments product without distracting from it. Camera- Ensure focus is always on product. Experimenting with different angles and ensure the product occupies a significant portion of the frame. Stability- Using a tripod is great way to avoid camera shake and ensure sharp images. Using timer to avoid touching the camera while taking shots. Details- Focus on unique features or details that make the product stand out (here we were shooting clothes so took detailed shots of embroidery, collar, sleeves, etc). Keeping props which goes with brand's aesthetics. Hope this is helpful, I am not well versed in writing. Just taking some small efforts. As I worked as an intern for Christmas in Wanamaker, I was given a task to develop a sweatshirt for their annual christmas parade. The internship itself lasted from August until December. During this time, I mainly used Adobe Photoshop to create a design that promoted the sponsors of the event, and at the same time, make it holiday themed. The internship tested my current experience with photoshop, since this was my first time doing something for a job with photoshop. I met with the people in charge of the event on a monthly basis to discuss the design and any suggestions in terms of changes that needed to be made. The shirt design itself had to go through many alterations. I also had to take layout and text fonts into account while designing the sweatshirt. The layout had to be legible, and the font had to be appropriate for the theming of the shirt. The original design was to have a christmas tree in the front and a wreath on the back. However, during one of the meetings I attended, I was told that people are more likely to see the front of the shirt more than the back, so I scrapped the wreath portion. The names of the sponsors that I included on the shirt were also originally part of the strings of lights, but I went with using the names with some colorful ornaments scattered in the tree. Overall, for one of my first times doing work for another company, It gave me an Idea on what to expect for how I will be critiqued when I start a job as a graphic designer. #GraphicDesign #AdobePhotoshop #Graphics

Interns! CEO’s! Juniors and Seniors of all types! What are some of your favorite ways to make new connections? I love meeting new people through shared interests. Sharing portfolios, experiences, learning about their starting out in the professional world, and what their favorite mediums and hobbies are. I want to hear your stories, where you started or where you are. Did you start over after leaving one industry? Were you top of your class? Share your thoughts! I’ll start below: - I’ve always been passionate about illustration, no doubt about it. I would draw every chance I had, and it became my identity. If no one knew me, they knew what I could do. It brought me purpose and joy. Fast forward to college, we’ve all heard the old “art school is a scam”, and maybe depending on your path you don’t need it. But me? I was enamored. Everything I learned was an adventure of its own, and the people I met made every day worth it. FIT was an experience I felt lucky to have. Mediums I had never heard of or seriously considered became a world of opportunities. Linocut, screenprinting, sculpture, gif animation, I didn’t know anything beyond pen and ink before the age of 18. It was magical. At 21 I interned at Sacatelle where I dipped into the world of advertising, they called it Bagvertising. I met other creatives and it was surreal. Beyond school, beyond social media, they were right before me. I couldn’t believe it. And from there, I finished my last year of school and moved onto stepping into different industries: apparel, packaging, even freelance illustration. To learn all of these skills was a privilege! I strive to build my own successful, longstanding brand. Hire my own up and coming professionals and build them up with me. Until then, I love coming into the office. I love learning where others came from and how we crossed paths. It continues to inspire me!

Life's not a maze in your 20s; it's more like a design project – you figure it out eventually." So, picture this: me, a slightly confused intern with a laptop in one hand, doubts hanging over my head like a storm cloud, and lack of experience – that was me stepping into BBB Integrated LLP's graphic design post three months ago. But guess what? Fast forward to today, I've traded the confusion for creative chaos, and I've upgraded from a pixelated puzzle piece to a much better graphic designer.
