I’m in India until mid-July, as we’re spending time with Rely Services, Inc. India-based operations. This time, brainstorming and innovating with the team has reaffirmed the importance of building a healthy team culture. It’s something that so many organizations overlook—as they focus on results first. But to drive results, you must ensure your team members feel empowered, respected, and motivated. Three tips to foster this culture within your company: 1. Be the example. As a leader, you set the tone for work-life balance within your organization. Others will follow suit if you’re loud about prioritizing your child’s recital or logging off early to put your kids to bed. 2. Give your team freedom. Micromanaging is never the answer. Empower your team with the runway to make independent decisions. When your team starts taking these actions, they start owning the business. 3. Support your team members. They are dedicating years of their lives to better your organization, so you must ensure they’re striving towards their professional goals. Offer a professional development budget and free learning resources to help them grow. What tips would you add to the list?
