Chris Crane, former CEO of Exelon and Constellation, was posthumously honored with a presidential citation from ANS at #ANSannual Conference for his steadfast dedication to excellence in #nuclear plant operations and diversity. Mike Pacilio accepted the award on his behalf.

This interview with my colleague, Matthew Hannaway outlines the challenges on the AUKUS pact – which are very similar to those here in the UK and our nuclear sector. Political stability and the access to funding are vital to getting large, complex projects off the ground – this then needs to be followed by clear strategy and set-up to keep these long-term endeavours on track. The appropriate contracting and delivery models, with a closely-knit team working together, can help to mitigate risks and move to faster solutions. The current skills shortage is also a huge challenge across construction as a whole, and the requirements for new people to join this sector to both build these facilities and then run them is ever expanding.
