Please support this petition! *Stop Hunting Us Like Animals* When night fell, behind the palm forests along the Tawau – Kalabakan road, thousands of migrant workers and their families hid in fear and cold. Including the elderly, pregnant women and babies. This is an incident of mass hiding of migrants in oil palm plantations which always happens every year. At night, the forests behind the oil palm plantations turn into hiding camps. Meanwhile, in the morning, they have to go back to work. Fertilize the land, harvest palm fruit bunches and transport them to processing factories. Bringing giant palm oil plantation machines back into production. After spending the night as fugitives, in the morning thousands of migrants, including children, had to return to work. This year's mass hiding season for oil palm plantation migrants has been underway since Friday, May 3 2024. Since a week ago, thousands of people who contribute to 40 percent of Sabah's economy have had to hide, sleeping under the protection of oil palm forests. Those who annually contribute to creating 5 million tons of CPO and 16.5 billion ringgit (58 trillion rupiah) in total export value for Sabah are hunted like animals.
