The Trajectory of the Semiconductor Industry: Today, we are seeing three critical phenomena in the semiconductor industry: (1) AI pushing the limits on compute requirements, (2) big companies investing in their semiconductor initiatives for vertical integration, and (3) countries like the US investing in domestic fabs. Considering these, are we moving towards a healthier semiconductor ecosystem, or should we be concerned about something? We discussed this important question with Olaf J Groth, PhD. Olaf is a Global Strategist, Think Tank Founder, and Author of multiple AI books. He is serving as the founder and CEO of a Think Tank advisory firm, Cambrian Futures. He is also part of the faculty at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, Hult International Business School, and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Olaf enlightened us with his perspective on this. He believes certain critical Micro and Macro-level uncertainties will shape the semiconductor industry's future.
