Thank you OPC Foundation for hosting me :-).
When I was invited to participate in this podcast, I realized lot of similarities between the journeys of OPC Foundation, Utthunga, and my own personal journey with OPC as my core strength.
In addition to what I shared in the podcast about the journey of OPC and Utthunga, I would like to delve into my personal journey with OPC UA as a technology that significantly influenced the shaping of our brand during our early years of #enterprenuership journey.
Although we initially focused on OPC and Device Engineering as our primary offerings in 2007. In 2015, Our CEO Krishnan KM made the strategic decision to expand our business beyond the #usa market. And, I started closely engaging with industrial consortiums such as FieldComm Group, FDT Group, ODVA and OPC Foundation. I along with core team members actively contributed to the OPC UA companion specification for these industrial standards, wrote white papers and #ieee publications and now, OPC UA Book :).
I vividly recall the days when Wolfgang Mahnke coached me in understanding some of the core concepts in OPC UA Information Modeling. Gradually, our company not only excelled in developing OPC products for our customers but also gained profound knowledge in comprehending the specifications and, more importantly, the underlying concepts and use cases behind those specifications. This enabled us to become the #preferred and #trustedpartners for our customers.
Currently, out of over 1000 engineers in #Utthunga family, more than 300 have worked on OPC technology, and we are proud members of the OPC India Hub steering committee under the leadership of Subramanya M R, Siemens contributing to the promotion of OPC technology for the Indian market.
In summary, OPC technology has played a crucial role in building my #personalbranding, which subsequently translated into the Utthunga brand and, of course, business success for us. And we are not alone; there are hundreds of member companies of the OPC Foundation who believe in this technology, serving their customers and driving revenue growth.
In essence, this #podcast holds special significance for me, and I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Stefan Hoppe, Peter Seeberg and Robert Weber for making it happen!

Listen to a new OPC Foundation podcast episode in which our host Peter Seeberg talks to Smitha Rao, co-founder of Utthunga, about #OPCUA from the perspective of a founder and CEO from India.
And why? Because she is a smart and successful businesswoman and we can learn from her.
I really appreciate Smitha and congratulate her and the company Uttunga on their success: Within 10 years the company grew from 3 to 1000 employees!
It also shows the constant growth and need for OPC UA over the years - and that makes me sentimental too!
Enjoy the podcast and try to get in touch with this power woman.
