It was 6:15am. The email was scathing, cruel and judgmental. The worst part was that it spoke a lot of truth. My agency had been growing and I recently hired someone to help a client with PowerPoint projects. ↘ My mistake: I didn't vet the VA well enough. ↘ Another mistake: I didn't clearly align with the client on what they needed. ↘ My final mistake: I tried defending my VA. With the final mistake, it wasn't so much that I was defending the VA that was the issue, it was more that I didn't acknowledge the client's anger at all. (Note to other business owners: don't answer emails when you haven't yet fully woken up) I don't regret my agency days.
