In the early 2000s, Apple faced fierce competition from Microsoft in the personal computer market. At the time, most companies focused solely on selling individual components and software, with little emphasis on design or user experience. However, Apple's CEO, Steve Jobs, had a different approach. He believed computers should be aesthetically pleasing, user-friendly, and seamlessly integrated with other devices. To achieve his vision, he needed to change his team's mindset around product design and development. Jobs encouraged his employees to adopt a beginner's mindset and brought together a diverse team of designers, engineers, and marketers, each with unique perspectives. Over time, this approach paid off tremendously. Apple's iconic products, such as the iPod, iPhone, and MacBook, revolutionised the tech industry and became some of the most successful products ever. The importance of focus... Shortly after Steve Jobs came back to Apple, he had a meeting with Johnny Ive to discuss Apple's product range which consisted of 40 products at that moment. Steve asked "How many times have you said no to a product?" which confused Johnny. “What focus means,” Jobs taught Ive, “is saying no to something that you—with every bone in your body—think is a phenomenal idea, and you wake up thinking about it, but you say no to it because you're focusing on something else.” Jobs walked up to a board and drew a 2 x 2 grid. On top, he wrote “Consumer” and “Professional.” Down the side, “Portable” and “Desktop.” Four products—meet Apple’s new radically focused product line, Jobs said. After that meeting, over the next two decades, Jobs and Ive—focused on making a few high-quality products while saying no to everything else—transformed a dying, near-bankrupt company into one of the most valuable companies in the world, worth over $2.9 trillion and its a principle they adhere to this day. #apple #focus #stevejobs #growthmindset

Endrit Restelica, thanks for that post. Over time I’ve seen that when dealing with customers. Personally I find two things to be highly important to know if before you can even begin to attempt to solve their problems. Especially the ones they did not know they had. 1. Knowing what they were looking for from a genuine perspective. Through finding out what issues they were having. 2. Your personal knowledge of the products and or services you represented. Functioning like this allows for greater success particularly in niche markets

UX and vision first then break down in pieces how to solve the problem are always more human.
