After watching an insightful reel on social media about a career in HR, I shared my interest in exploring new opportunities in the field. However, I was taken aback by the flood of messages and comments, some genuine and others mocking, implying that HR professionals don't seek employment themselves. This experience shed light on the misconceptions surrounding HR roles. It's important to recognize that HR professionals are just as entitled to seek new opportunities and career advancements as anyone else. Let's normalize the idea that HR professionals are not exempt from career exploration and growth. #HRthings #hr #linkedin #jobs #cfbr

Did I choose the HR career or did the HR career choose me ? After around 6 years of working in this field I try to reflect on my choice of this career and I fail to determine the moment that it did strike me "I need to work in HR !" But I'm pretty sure no friendly giant has showed up at my doorstep , declaring: ZEINA YOU ARE AN HR ! ⚡ Does that mean I have doubts regarding this choice, and that I have considered making a career change ? Heaven only knows ! If I stumbled upon a time turner would I choose any differently ? Absolutely not ! (Well I'm a potterhead and I know for a fact that such a thing is not possible) So how do I feel about being an HR? Well, for one thing certainly I wasn't equipped with a magical wand to solve all kinds of problems, however my position allows me to construct a comprehensive picture of the organization I work in, thus my role becomes harmonizing the collective efforts towards realizing the organization goals, for instance; I don't hire the most talented ➡️ I hire the best culture fit I don't punish misconducts ➡️ I understand why they happened I don't compile employees data and attendance records for the sake of it ➡️ I extract metrics from them to know where we're headed. Does that mean I have realized all my professional goals, and I'm satisfied ? Not even close, and I don't even consider that I've made so called achievements, I still have so much self-improvement to make, and doubting voices in my head to tune out, but at least I can say for certainty I've never done anything half heartedly. As I strongly believe in Confucius saying, "Wherever you go, go with all your heart" Let us all embrace our career, take bride in it, while adding our own personal touch! #CareerReflection #HR #Careers #Potterhead

Career Ladder Vs Impact Ladder We often define our career ambitions by job titles. Job titles are subjective and contextual. One organisation's HR advisor is another HR Business Partner and a Chief People Officer is somebody else's HR Director. We need to look beyond the title, beyond the description and in to the reality. What is the role like when you're actually doing it? You can only do this when in the job, but use the interview process to really ask about the impact and value does the role have? Use the first 18 months to test if you are having the impact that you were promised. The nice job titles and more importantly the right experience will automatically come when you start looking at your career from the impact you want to make and the value you want to add. #HR #Progression #Career
