Although I work with SQL Server everyday since almost 30 years ago (mostly optimizing queries and stored procedures), it does not hurt to learn as much as possible about Oracle as well 😉 This is just the start, with many concepts very common between Oracle and SQL Server, but I had to start somewhere 😉 BTW, I am not intending to become an Oracle DBA, just want to understand how different it is from SQL Server

Here is my next blog on Oracle Database - Compare Execution Plans. Many a time Oracle DBA's/Developers would identify multiple executions plans for a single SQL statement. Comparing SQL Plans has been a manual look up approach. From Oracle 19c onwards an inbuilt package dbms_xplan.compare_plans gives this ability to compare SQL Plans. The blog provides a code snippet and a comparison example https://lnkd.in/gEVT6Kx7 #oracle #oci #database #oraclecloud #oraclecloudinfrastructure #oracledba #oracleapex #oracledeveloper #oracledeveloper #linuxadministrator #linux #linuxengineer #oracleebs #oracleforall #oracleanalytics #oracleace #oraclefusion #cloudadministration #cloudengineer #cloudcomputing #cloud

My Journey to Oracle 1Z0-071 Exam Success 👨🎓 When I first took the Oracle 1Z0-071 exam, it didn't go as planned. I ended up with a 30/63, which was a bit like running an SQL query and missing a few crucial elements. It was a clear sign that I needed a different approach. So, I rolled up my sleeves and got serious about my preparation. I dug into Oracle's training materials and spent countless hours mastering the more complex aspects of SQL, like those tricky JOINs and subqueries. It was tough, but I was determined to get it right. When I sat for the exam the second time, everything I had learned came together beautifully. My answers were quick and accurate, much like a well-optimized SQL query. I was thrilled to see that I scored 54/63, which translates to 85.7%. It was a great feeling, especially considering the pass rate is around 63%. For anyone looking to take this exam, my advice is this: don't be afraid to go back to the drawing board if you need to. Rethink your study methods, and don't shy away from the challenging parts. In the end, it's all about finding the right formula that works for you, just like in SQL.
