A unique and interesting study in order to understand the challenges people with metastatic breast cancer face when learning about their biomarkers. One of the conclusion is that policy makers and their governments, healthcare professionals and their societies, patient advocates and their organisations, global health organisations, and pharmaceutical and diagnostic companies worldwide should work together to improve communication and understanding of biomarkers to patients with mBC. It is only through collaboration and concerted effort that change can be realised for the millions of people living with mBC today.

Our latest study reveals significant barriers patients encounter in comprehending their diagnosis, primarily due to insufficient information, education, and support. These challenges hinder their ability to self-advocate and participate effectively in shared decision-making. To address these issues, the study recommends several actions: - Enhance Communication: Improve the effectiveness of communication between healthcare professionals (HCPs) and patients. - Empower Patients: Provide patients with the necessary information and guidance to advocate for themselves. - Activate Advocacy Groups: Mobilize local patient advocacy groups to drive change and promote patient advocacy.
