“I've encountered some moments where people have tried to put retail media in this box as if it's a flash in the pan, the next web three or metaverse, but it's so much bigger than that. Retail media is the future of all media.” Analyst Andrew Lipsman sat down with Jeremy Bloom 🌞 on the second episode of the podcast series “Why?!” to go deep on just WHY retail media is hot right now. I know that the metaverse still feel like a pie-in-the-sky Zuck dream to many of you, and while we may not end up calling the next iteration of the Internet the #metaverse, the evolution is well underway. Alan Hart hosted me on his podcast Marketing Today with Alan Hart and among other things we talked about why Supersocial Inc. is all in on platforms like #Roblox and why marketers and advertisers should be taking this evolution seriously. Check out the episode here: https://lnkd.in/gNCkiaN7 Thanks for having me Alan!

Here's my conversation with Mark Zuckerberg, his 3rd time on the podcast, but this time we talked in the Metaverse as photorealistic avatars. This was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. It really felt like we were talking in-person, but we were miles apart 🤯 https://lnkd.in/gWfaa-EG It's hard to put into words how awesome this was for someone like me who values the intimacy of in-person conversation. It gave me a glimpse of an exciting future with many new possibilities and fascinating questions about the nature of reality and human connection ❤

"This was one of the most incredible experiences of my life." -Lex Fridman 💚 😃 Reading and hearing the reaction of Lex is what anyone who has spent any amount of time in VR will immediately confirm. Interacting together with other people while in VR is something that was love at first sight for so many of us. While the level of quality that Lex and Mark are exhibiting here is absolutely next level!, the effect with what is freely available on the market today delivers the same level of immersiveness and feeling completely. Thinking back to my first encounter with recreational VR back in 2017 (with the Oculus Rift), The headset being put onto my head while playing an fpv-combat game, my mind immediately went into overload; as in "fight or flight" mode! Though luckily I stayed and fought instead of ripping the cable out of the computer on my way out, and by the end, I had fallen onto the floor trying to fend off attackers using a virtual pistol...pure adrenaline! 💚 I knew in that moment that this was the future and there was nothing that was going to stop it. Now, granted the experience back then was a far cry away from sitting in a calm meeting with business associates around the world discussing the re-engineering of their companies business processes, but the stage had been set. And a few short years later, I spent the entire day yesterday actively participating in a workshop about AI and sustainability that was being hosted halfway around the world without ever leaving my apartment! The ability to interact with other people from anywhere in the world in a real, meaningful way using VR technology surpasses anything that has ever been possible to date in terms of social interaction. #socialinteraction #VR #futureisnow #reality

This innovative virtual communication technology, which enables interaction through the generation of realistic face renderings, is indeed breathtaking! Such an approach can drastically reduce data transmission volumes by sending a face rendering once, and then only coordinates, consequently reducing energy consumption at every stage of data transmission. This not only revolutionizes our way of interacting but also significantly decreases greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to the combat against the climate crisis. Such technological breakthroughs open new horizons for enhancing the environmental scenario on our planet.

I got facinated by the cocept of metaverse and the conversation with Mark. I imagine we can have these Avatars in an autonomous mode, they create their own world virtually and we as physical being only access them as and when needed. This can help us in many ways like: 1. Experience talking to people who are deeased while their autonomous avatars live forever. 2. We can meet people whom we can never have access to physically like Sachin Tendulkar- We can talk to his autonomous avatar. #metaverse
