Why you should be using Pinterest to plan your wardrobe. 📌 Increasingly, those interested in tailoring are using Pinterest to inspire their next look. Pinterest is a great way to collate images of looks for events or to follow trends. Pinterest is like a digital pinboard, where you can collect images and ideas that inspire you or inform your style choices. Searching for key words such as pleated trousers, mens tailored outfits etc will help you to find what you think will work for you. You can then use this as a reference when planning your next wardrobe piece. The algorithm will also suggest images that it thinks you will like, which may well inspire you to look at design features, colours or fabrics that you hadn't previously thought of, thus continuing your wardrobe evolution. Trends don't appear out of nowhere; they can generally be traced back to a pivotal moment in time. Whether it's the debut of a newbie designer's runway collection, the start of a political shitstorm, a tongue-wagging pop culture event or a viral social media moment, there's no trend smoke without fire. If you had the foresight to predict a global pandemic, climate change, and the political instability and outrage wreaking havoc worldwide, you might have seen the rise of the alt girl aesthetic coming. With a new wave of creators, pop culture icons, and subculture movements giving this aesthetic the attention it deserves, baddies are putting their stamp on fashion’s finest countercultural trend. Alt fashion is in its baddie era. #writer #editor #substack #newsletter #fashion #fashionindustry #fashiontrends #trends #subculture #aesthetic #counterculture #creators #popculture #socialmedia #altgirl https://lnkd.in/ewQUBSPu

The big question: What should Ai be used for? I like how Meg is approaching her work with gen ai. 1. It’s important for people to know up front what they are looking at and she is very transparent about what is what in her portfolio. I personally find that comforting and I think clients will too. 2. She is utilizing this tool to create beautiful mood boards and concepts that can then be brought into real life and made tangible by artists and makers with tangible skills and talents. Well done Meg!

I help women corporate professionals and entrepreneurs to dress for success at work! Refine your brand image, feel confident, and attract premium career opportunities
Stop copying exact outfits from Pinterest. And start dressing for your shapes and aesthetics. The biggest problem I see when speaking with professional women and entrepreneurs They assume that if they see someone wearing a similar top and pants, they can style it the same way without looking at their: - body shape - proportions - aesthetics And then they are surprised they don't feel or look the same as the person from Pinterest. But the problem is: - We all have different body shapes - We all have different proportions - We all have different aesthetics So, to give you an example. If you see a woman on your Pinterest board wearing a top tucked inside the pants, you think this will work for you. But you might not know that you have a short torso, and you will look better when your top is out. Or this type of silhouette might not even be flattering on your shape in the first place. So before you start going through Pinterest looking for outfits you can wear You have to figure out: 👉 What is your body shape 👉How to dress to flatter your proportions So you can look at Pinterest and use it as an inspiration in building your style, not copying it. Because your confidence and comfort will always outshine an imitation. #personalstyle #personalbrand #womanentrepreneur #leadership #corporate

POV: Dating apps should break into the jewelry category. Why? They are hubs for finding love. For couples who have met on the apps, it would be a great experience if they could take that core memory and turn it into something tangible and sentimental, like jewelry, so they can wear it with them everyday. As a freelance jewelry designer for brands, it is my goal to conceptualize unexpected collaborations and designs that take businesses to the next level. Take a look at my TikTok for a wearable fine jewelry collection I designed (as a case study) for Bumble. Would you wear it?
