If there is one thing I'd love women to embrace through their menstrual and menopausal years it is this exactly... There is an ingrained conditioning that has told us that menstruation, periods, menopause, women's bodies, our cycles and phases are shameful, wrong, disgusting, dismissive, do not need to be considered, should be feared and makes us troublesome. This has created the vow of silence and uncomfortableness that is still haunting us today. We need to shift what our eyes see and our ears hear (consciously and subconsciously) and embrace and harness the strength, power and potential that is our cycles. We need to change what our eyes see and our ears hear when it comes to support options and recognise the power is ours for the taking. We need to know that we are in control of what our brain sees and hears and if we see opportunity, health, positivity, choice, a portal, then we can live and feel as we desire no matter what phase of life we are in. #menstruationawareness #menopauseawareness #womenshealth

When we hear about midlife transitions, it's often in the context of women going through menopause. However, men can also experience significant hormonal changes during middle age, a phase sometimes referred to as "andropause." Andropause, much like menopause, can bring about a range of physical and emotional changes, which range in severity from person to person. In my latest video, we will delve into the concept of andropause, exploring its causes and symptoms and how men can navigate this important life transition. To watch the video, click the link in the comments section (unfortunately, I have to share the link that way because LinkedIn doesn't like you directing people away from their platform and so limits the reach of my posts! If you enjoy the video, please click the subscribe button. I don't get your email. You won't be bombarded with cheesy sales stuff (just great, usable content), and IT'S COMPLETELY FREE! As always, thanks for your continued support #andropause #menshealth #mensmentalhealth #mensmentalhealthawareness

F - ostering Intimate Health!! The F in ‘SHE COMES FIRST’ 🌟 As we continue the exploration of the 13-Step journey in ‘SHE COMES FIRST’ we shed light on the letter ‘F’ = Fostering Intimate Health. One crucial aspect often overlooked is the relationship between transverse abdominals (muscles that run around the trunk behind belly button) and pelvic basin, when force is created within our abdominal cavity - intra-abdominal pressure - when we sneeze, cough, laugh or engage in physical activities. 💫 This pressure, dissipates when the transverse abdominals are working functionally; like squeezing the toothpaste in the middle. The pressure moves in two directions; upward into the diaphragm and downward into the pelvis. This pressure, is important to understand or know about since it has the potential to overload the muscles of the pelvic floor or protect them from such. That difference becoming challenges such as urinary leaking, or organ prolapse as debilitations that impact menstruation, maternity and menopause. Or better sexual feeling and confidence to move freely without fear or embarrassment. ✨I am a pioneer in addressing this issue and have been championing the conversation since 2005 after publishing my first book Can a Vagina really buy a Mercedes?’ Subtitled ‘What can your pelvic floor do for you?’ My expertise blends science, humour and spoken word, making important discussions relevant and accessible without the stigma or derogatory language. ✅ This Sunday 10th December, I delve into this vitally important gateway that links our inner and outer worlds - a foundational part of the 13-step journey, impacted by menstruation, maternity and menopause. Get involved: * Secure your spot * Seize the chance to become enlightened ad empowered * Be in with the chance to win that beautiful #pandora bangle! No need to sped the £99, book your sport today!! 🌟 The Actress Jenny Seagrove stated in the foreword of my second book ‘Pelvic Floor Secrets’ that my book was a ‘mix of science and humour sandwich together in the most unlikely fashion and suddenly hey presto nothing is embarrassing and everything is important.’ Discover the importance for yourself Foster Your Intimate Health from today ❣️. #intimatehealth #pioneer #intimateconversations #empoweringwomen https://lnkd.in/etj4bX3x

Check out my latest blog post which explores the sensitive issue of hair loss in perimenopausal and post-menopausal women. For many women, their hair is a huge part of their self-identity and hair loss can have a significant impact on confidence and self-esteem in the workplace. Although hair loss can be experienced by up to 1 in 3 women in the UK (Harvard Medical School), we don't see it as the social norm for women. Read this blog and others in 'The not-so-secret diary of a perimenopausal woman' to find out more about the perimenopause and post-menopause..... https://lnkd.in/eKtQ6p44 #newblogpost #hairloss #menopausehealth #perimenopausesupport

Period are normal, but for so long it has been something that we have been told or encouraged to keep “hush hush”. This has made it so hard to change the shame and stigma that clouds menstruation. From our first period to menopause this is a conversation we all need to be having so we don’t feel so alone. Knowledge is power and that’s why it is so important for us to conduct the Bloody Big Survey. When you complete the survey you’re helping to remove the shame and stigma around menstruation. When we know better, we do better! We cannot wait to share with you what we learn from you answering the survey in AUGUST! Yep that quickly. Take the survey - https://lnkd.in/gpmT6kyB #BloodyBigSurvey #togetherwearestronger #menstruationmatters
