This week is UK National Inclusion Week! At Carrickcare, we believe that everyone deserves to feel included and valued, regardless of their background, abilities, or circumstances. We are committed to creating a more inclusive society for everyone, and we are proud to be supporting National Inclusion Week this year. The theme for National Inclusion Week 2023 is ''Take Action, Make Impact''. We encourage everyone to take some time this week to think about how they can make their community a more inclusive place. Here are a few ideas: 💚 Learn more about different cultures and perspectives. 💚 Challenge stereotypes and prejudice. 💚 Be mindful of your language and avoid using hurtful or discriminatory language. 💚 Support inclusive businesses and organizations. 💚 Get involved in your community and volunteer your time to help others. It's National Inclusion Week! 🎉 This is a time to celebrate diversity and promote inclusion in our communities and workplaces. National Inclusion Week was first launched in 2019 by the charity Inclusive Employers. It is a fantastic opportunity to recognize the importance of creating an inclusive environment that allows all people to be accepted, respected and valued. 💚 This year's theme is 'Don't Stand By', encouraging us all to take action and speak out against any form of discrimination or bullying. We can all do our bit to make sure everyone feels welcome and included, no matter their background or identity. 🤝 There are lots of ways to celebrate National Inclusion Week. INCLUSION (noun): The practice or policy of providing equal access to opportunities & resources for people who might otherwise be excluded or marginalised. We kicked off National Inclusion Week at Wiser with a whole-company Stand Up lead by our Culture Council: 📊 Denika & Craig took us through the analysis our current company diversity data and the results of our Inclusion Survey. 🪡 We re-launched our Purple Thread DEI learning programme with the first session on ‘Breaking our Biases’ taking place this afternoon. 💜 We split into our teams to discuss what actions we could take to make Wiser a more inclusive place to work. To finish, we each had a polaroid picture taken and wrote an inclusion pledge on the back to hold ourselves accountable, channelling this year’s NIW theme: Take Action, Make Impact.
