5 days left before the start of Toyota's 2023 Swarm Hackathon. I have several of my team members directly participating on innovation teams and many who are supporting logistics and operations. I am privileged to both be participating in the judging and feedback of teams ideas as well as using my photography skills to help document the event! I wanted to share a glimpse into my recent project where I delved into the world of sports analytics, specifically in the realm of paddle tennis. 🏓 I utilized YOLOv8 from Ultralytics to build a custom object detection model for tracking the ball and implemented instance segmentation for player tracking. The primary goal was to create a heat map that could unveil patterns in the game, providing valuable insights for players and enthusiasts alike. 🤖🔍 However, despite the efforts and dedication, the heat maps generated turned out to be quite random. It's a reminder that innovation comes with its fair share of challenges. 🚀 While I haven't yet cracked the code to identify distinct patterns in the game, I've decided to take a step back from this specific project. The journey has been incredibly enriching, and sometimes, it's okay to pivot and explore new avenues. 🔄 I believe in the power of continuous learning and iteration. Although this project may not have yielded the desired results, it's a stepping stone for future endeavors. 💡 Exciting things are on the horizon, and I'm eager to explore new ideas and challenges in the world of technology and sports analytics. 🌐🔬 Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey! Let's keep pushing the boundaries of innovation together. 🚀💪 #SportsAnalytics #YOLOv8 #Innovation #PaddleTennis #TechJourney

First and second places in robot competition: but not selected for next round (strange things in Sarpsborg and Fredrikstad), First Lego League, Inspiria I am very proud that Dragon Team, a local team in Moss, which I am a co-trainer, won the first place in robot competition in Sarpsborg today. The kids code, experiment, and spend long days preparing for this. (So they were excitedly waiting for a prize, to be surprised to get nothing. We parents are also very astonished. This year in Sarpsborg is quite exceptional that both first and second place teams are not chosen to go to the next round in Norway. The team who got Robot Design prize - in the Norwegian has a less understandable name Teknologi - is not one of the best 4 teams, and this team has close relation to another team which is clearly better than them in everything. From the Robot Design viewpoint, our robot is more stable and more unique than other robots in the Sarpsborg competition - this can be checked by looking at how the scores evolved through different stages - but we don't even get in the nominated list. Some core ideas from our previous try in 2021 were incorporated. The children simply don't understand why.) #tekna #equinor #inspiria #firstlegoleague #norway #sarpsborg #moss #scandinavia #fredrikstad

Transforming the eSkootr Championship Experience: A Client Success Tale🚀 Imagine launching a website that takes longer to load than the time visitors actually spend on it. Frustrating, right? That was the reality for the eSkootr Championship (eSC) team before they turned to us. Their previous agency left them with a sluggish site, a bitter taste, and a quest for a new partner who could turn the tide. Enter Pineapple Pink. We didn't just accept the challenge; we embraced it with open arms and a vision. Our mission was twofold: mend a broken digital presence and rebuild trust, stitch by stitch. Collaboration and communication were our tools of choice. Engaging with the eSkootr team weekly, we built not just a website but a digital experience that exceeded their expectations, mirroring the speed and excitement of the races they host. The result? A swift, seamless website that's a testament to what true partnership can achieve. We're not just talking about a quick load time; we're talking about a relationship rebuilt on trust, performance, and mutual success. Witnessing the revival of their confidence in digital agencies has been our greatest victory. Our ambition? To see the eSkootr Championship rival the fame of Formula 1. If you're craving a boutique-style, custom-built digital transformation that places you on the podium, let's talk. Together, we can accelerate your brand to pole position. #pineappledotpink #webflow #webdesign #clientsuccess #webflowdesign #figma #eskootrchampionship

What do emerging #tech services and a bunch of teenage surfer boys from the mid-70s have in common? Plenty, it turns out. We take inspiration from the indie documentary Dogtown and the Z-Boys to discuss how #success is a #subculture. Even when taken from a random sample as small as a neighborhood, you can create a group that can beat the rest of the world. That's the same power & promise ETS companies hold, and that's why we at Vixul are on a mission to help ETS #founders succeed. 👉 ETS: A Skateboarding Analogy https://hubs.li/Q02q2TVG0

I was delighted to read in our neighbourhood newspaper that the local #WestVan robotics team did brilliantly at World Championships in Dallas, Texas. 🎇 🎉 To put it in context, West Vancouver is around 45 000 people. The Greater Vancouver urban area is about 3 million. It's really, REALLY small, (and schools struggle to attract enough pupils due to the older demographic.) And yet at the World Championships, the WestVan team/s earned: 🤖 the Robot Skills World Champions, 🤖 the Create Award, 🤖 the Think Award, 🤖 the Amaze Award, and 🤖 the Reverse Engineering Award. HOW DID THEY DO IT? The article (see link below) notes that around 300 students from Grade 3 to Grade 12 - from multiple schools AND multiple grades of those schools - work together when it comes to robotics. Different schools! Different age groups! Co-operating? When I was growing up, schools COMPETED. Like a war. ONE winner, everyone else was a loser (especially if you were in 2nd place). That combative, "winner takes all" mindset set the tone for my workplaces later. And to me, relying on "The Art of War" for business strategy has been a disaster. Even the zillionaires don't seem happy with what they have accumulated. INSTEAD... I LOVE the idea of schools co-operating. 🤝 And that the pupils taking part in this didn't just learn robotics, but that co-operation leads to better results, and greater success. It gives me hope for the future! Most people think of websites for marketing in a highly competitive world. But they are also amazing for COLLABORATION. If you are looking for a friendly and convenient way for groups of people to work together, learn together, and support each other, please DM me! I'd love to hear more, and share ideas about how technology and automation can build communities! ------------------------ I'm Dianne from InTouch24-7 👆︎, ask me about member-based resource hubs #PleaseClickLike 🙏 #OrTheBell 🔔 #ResourceHub #WebsitesThatWork #elearning
