Much have been Published/Discussed/Debated/Pros & Cons of the Successfully Operating Vogtle Units 3 & 4. (Cogratulations to a very broad TEAM for their Accomplishment) I view above as a very Important/Timely Benefit not obvious to some in the upcoming NEW Nuclear Industry. To Capitalize on the above seems we need to START Ordering "Fleet" of Large Size Advanced Generation III+ Reactors and upcoming Highly Simplified/Factory Built SMRs.! Btw: When it comes to the EPC of Nuclear Projects, seems "Bechtel" clearly stands out as the most Experienced/Successful Global Organization. I had an opportunity to accept a Senior Position in Project Controls (Bechtel Offices in Norwalk, California) but,....... rest is now a part of my EPC/NSSS History-will remain Grateful.! P.S: I enjoyed working with Bechtel Professionals related to a consulting Assignment in support of Vogtle Units 1 & 2 PRUDENCE Investigation. #DATABASE(1970-2024)

“We are already making progress on our nuclear revival, securing two sites with strong potential to host new projects and help deliver the biggest expansion of nuclear power in 70 years” said Secretary of State for Department for Energy Security and Net Zero Claire Coutinho, last week after the Government announced the purchase of two nuclear development sites in Wylfa and Oldbury-on-Severn. This is another positive step for #nuclearenergy, following the release of the Government’s Civil Nuclear Roadmap earlier in the year, which laid out plans to boost the UK’s #energysecurity and achieve #netzero by increasing #nuclearenergy production and having up to a quarter of Britain’s energy come from #nuclear by 2050! Indiana has become a hot bed for data centers. Centrally located with the resources we need to grow industry, technology and warehousing coupled with a moderate cost of living, we have seen tremendous growth across so many business sectors. How will we invest in energy in the future as the DOE injects funding into advanced reactors? It will be interesting to see if local communities will be on board with nuclear as a solution.

A major milestone for nuclear in the U.S. It took longer and cost more than anticipated but as the first truly new reactor in decades this is not surprising. Hopefully after some operational experience these new reactors will show that nuclear power is a safe carbon-free alternative.

“The first nuclear reactor built from scratch in the U.S. in decades has entered operation at a power plant in Georgia,……” “There were 92 operating nuclear reactors in the U.S. as of last year, spread out across 54 nuclear plants in 28 states, according to the Nuclear Energy Institute.[6] However, America's nuclear infrastructure is aging, and the average reactor is now 40 years old, with the oldest still-operating reactor built in 1969.[7]” …..setting up &/or renewing infrastructure to have the night-time “emission free” capacity to charge all the electric vehicles that are scheduled to come on line? 

By all indications, President Marcos is determined to accomplish what his father and succeeding presidents had failed to do—harness the power of nuclear energy to bolster the country’s tight electricity supply. His enthusiasm was shared by conglomerates such as the Aboitiz Group and Metro Pacific led by Manuel V. Pangilinan, who took the policy signal of the Marcos administration to proceed with their own partnership talks to put up nuclear power plants in the Philippines. The Manila Electric Co., for example, has entered into a cooperation agreement with US-based Ultra Safe Nuclear Corp. (USNC) to study the local operation of a micro-modular reactor energy system, a fourth-generation system that can supposedly deliver “safe, clean, and cost-effective electricity to users anywhere” and scheduled for first nuclear power in 2026.  https://lnkd.in/gftAaHJn

Today’s announcement of the Civil Nuclear Roadmap is a welcome reassertion of Government’s commitment to Great British Nuclear announced last summer and to increasing the UK’s nuclear power generation four-fold by 2050. Delivering this growth in capacity will clearly be an immense task, requiring private investment in addition to the public funding already laid out. A consistent direction of travel is fundamental to providing investors with the confidence to back programmes across the sector. A clear, stable pipeline of work will also be crucial to building the specialist skills and supply chain needed for the scale and complexity of nuclear power projects. As we head towards a General Election, we need Government to maintain this steady course – regardless of the outcome at the ballot boxes. https://lnkd.in/eU_jubGY

The Civil Nuclear Roadmap is a positive step towards enhancing the future stability and independence of the UK's energy sector - establishing a clear pipeline of long-term projects. Considerate investment will be required to deliver this increase in our capacity, and help in the drive towards the UK's net-zero targets.
