🎉Congratulations to Plant Vogtle and our partners at Georgia Power Company and Southern Nuclear for being named POWER magazine's Plant of the Year!🎉 Plant Vogtle Units 3 and 4 made history this year by bringing clean, carbon-free, nuclear power to the grid—today, helping power 500,000+ homes and businesses across Georgia. #Bechtel, joining the project in 2017, completed the construction of both units, representing the first successful start-to-finish construction of a new nuclear plant in the U.S. in over 30 years. #Bechtel chairman and CEO Brendan Bechtel shared insights on the future of nuclear power: "Plant Vogtle is already moving us in the right direction. It has begun rebuilding the U.S.'s muscle memory in nuclear construction, including re-establishing critical supply chains and a workforce with the specialized skills and hands-on experience that are transferable to future projects." 👉 Read Brendan's full Op-Ed in POWER magazine here: https://lnkd.in/ezBGsQUW For over 70 years, Bechtel has helped deliver nuclear power solutions for customers, adding over 76,000 megawatts of capacity worldwide. Our commitment to excellence, safety, and sustainability drives us as we support energy and climate security goals with projects like the AP1000 units in Poland and the Natrium Advanced Reactor Demonstration in Wyoming. Ensuring safety is paramount in our industry. Introducing hands-free tools for lifting, guiding, and handling suspended loads and drill pipes can significantly reduce hand and finger injuries. These innovations aim to enhance operational safety on the rig floor, particularly in preventing incidents categorized as 'caught between objects.' Let's prioritize safety together! #SafetyFirst #HandsFreeOperation #OilAndGasSafety Learn more https://raahsafety.com/raah-hands-free-safety/

A lot of hard work went into that plant! Let's take advantage of all of the skills that were developed during construction and roll into another plant!!

Construction of the last 2 reactors began in 2009 and was originally expected to cost $US14 billion with a start date in 2016 and 2017. But as often happens the project suffered construction delays and cost overruns – exceeding $US30 billion ($A45 billion). https://reneweconomy.com.au/why-the-newest-large-nuclear-plant-in-the-us-is-likely-to-be-the-last/
