Experienced Financial Professional | Ensuring Your Security, Growing Your Wealth, & Helping You Achieve Financial Freedom | Proud to connect Military Veterans with lucrative & rewarding careers
Why I Hire Veterans: A Commitment to Our Nation's Heroes The threads of military service weave deeply through the fabric of my family! My husband, a proud Marine veteran, also dedicated his time to the Coast Guard Auxiliary. My son has embraced the call of duty in the Marine Reserves, while my son-in-law is currently facing the challenges of deployment with the OK National Guard/Army. Their sacrifices, commitment, and dedication constantly remind me of the immense value that military personnel bring to the table! Beyond personal ties, there are numerous reasons why I make a concerted effort to hire veterans: Dedication & Work Ethic: The military instills a strong sense of duty, responsibility, and commitment. When veterans commit to a task, they see it through, often going above and beyond. Leadership: Veterans have been trained to lead by example. They are skilled in team coordination, responsibility delegation, and achieving mission objectives. Problem-solving: Military training is all about adaptability. Veterans are often great at thinking on their feet and finding solutions even under pressure. Integrity: Honesty, trustworthiness, and strong moral principles are hallmarks of military service. In the business world, this translates to trustworthy employees who uphold the highest standards. Teamwork: Veterans understand the importance of working as a cohesive unit. They value each member's contribution and know how to leverage individual strengths for collective success. But above all, my drive to hire and support veterans stems from a deeply personal place. Assisting our nation's heroes in achieving financial freedom is not just a business strategy; it's a heartfelt commitment! By integrating them into the workforce, we're not only recognizing their invaluable skills but also offering a small token of gratitude for their unwavering service to our nation. If you're a veteran looking for opportunities, or if you know a veteran who might be interested, please reach out. Let's work together to create a brighter future for those who've given so much. #VeteransInBusiness #HireVeterans #SupportOurTroops #FinancialFreedomForHeroes #SoaringElite

5 Reasons Hiring Veterans is Good for Business Over the many years of my manufacturing career, I have often interviewed and hired many job candidates. My experience has been that if two candidates were otherwise equally qualified and one had served in the military, I would select the veteran. These individuals had a sense of duty and responsibility suited for the manufacturing industry. Many veterans have known nothing but military service, as they often enlist shortly after graduating high school. Years later, they leave the familiarity of the work routine as an armed forces member. A transition to the civilian sector can take time for them. The manufacturing industry can be a natural fit given the attention to detail, a need to be precise, teamwork, troubleshooting, and spatial thinking required to succeed in this work environment. They can also replicate their military career's success and upward mobility in manufacturing. We O'Donnell is a Managing Editor of military.com, TV host, veteran hiring speaker, and 10-year US Army and US Air Force veteran who advocates for hiring our military veterans. He shares five reasons why they should be your next hire: 1. Leadership at every level 2. Composure and creativity under pressure 3. Integrity always 4. Habitual goal orientation 5. Diversity and inclusion in action I concur with O'Donnell's list and would add other traits like being on time daily and staying with an assignment until completion. While there are always exceptions, I highly recommend hiring our returning heroes. #AutomotiveIndustry #LeanManufacturing #ManufacturingOperations #Manufacturing #HumanistManufacturing #Military https://lnkd.in/gF7cdHNQ

#DYK Every day, hundreds of military personnel are leaving the service in search of civilian employment. Many of these highly-trained and qualified individuals are still struggling to secure jobs. Today we celebrate National Hire a Veteran Day, and it's an excellent opportunity for us to honor these Veterans' sacrifices by considering them to fill open job positions. We recognize the value that Veterans can bring with their extensive training and experience in multiple trades. We highly encourage employers to explore the wide range of skills and talents that Veterans can offer. Do you know a Veteran-friendly employer? Tag them in the comments!

My advocacy for the military community extends far beyond finding them meaningful careers. I have always had a personal mission of helping civilian organizations UNDERSTAND a veteran. They are multi-layered assets. There are 2 steps to making a successful post-service career match: 1. Prepare the veteran for a civilian company. 2. Prepare the civilian company for a veteran. The “ah-hah” moment is wonderful to witness when I explain the parallels between what their company does versus what that veteran candidate did while serving. How veterans have the skills, hands, motivation, and drive to get the work done, but just needs training on the specific tool/program/task in your organization. If you have a passion and goal of hiring veterans, I encourage you to take the time to understand them first…true diamonds will be missed if you don’t. 🌟Hire for character…train for skill🌟 #veteranemployment #veteran

"Veterans", to me, is a highly lacking diversity label. First off, people seem to mean "veterans of your country". Maybe someone emigrates after leaving another country's military or has been a child soldier or something. Hell, there's not even one military branch in the US. Secondly, the ideas I hear are usually "where can we find them" and "how do we onboard". I've almost never heard discussion on things like O*NET's Military Occupation Crosswalk used to explain specific job codes and titles used by military branches as examples to reference for potential role equivalency. Thirdly, and where I suspect I am overthinking: why are we presuming veteranship would be something with problems being constant? Where in this process is reaching out to veterans groups to welcome input? What events could trigger reaching out to the group for opinions throughout the year, such as changes to enlistment requirements? What about transitions from civilians supporting the military to other similar roles? Lastly, does everyone really need the conversion training? I mean, I'm not a veteran, but one of my red flags of diversity programs is seeing required workplace transition discussions without a way to prove you know what you're doing in that regard. This is all meant to be food for thought instead of anything definitive, and I'm largely talking out of my butt. Thank you for your time.

Founder Friday on Flag Day! As a veteran, the American flag has even more significance for me. And I will always stand for it. That will stir debate amongst some and as I continue to read Adam Grant's book "Think Again", I do pause to think about other's perspectives. What I don't pause is advocating for #military talent. We need the military. We need people to volunteer to put on the uniform, raise their right hand and run towards danger. We need them to have opportunities for great careers after their service to our country. We need to rethink how we interpret their skills and how we are #hiring. Our military titles don't begin to cover the depth of skills we acquire. We shouldn't pigeon-hole veterans into "comparable" civilian occupations. Talents ASCEND - we are different. Matching . People . Instantly Long may our flag wave! https://lnkd.in/efVPK2m5

Created by Hire Our Heroes Veteran Job Board founder, Dan Caporale, National Hire a Veteran Day encourages employers all over the country to recruit and hire our nation’s veterans. Since JST was founded by an Air Force veteran, we recognize the competitive skills and impressive core values that former service members bring to the table. In fact, 50% of our team members are either veterans or active military members! According to the U.S. Department of Labor, about 200,000 military members retire or separate from the armed forces each year. We encourage employers to become involved with the many veteran hiring resources available including the Department of Labor’s VETS program, United States Department of Defense SkillBridge program, and Hiring Our Heroes to recruit our nation’s veterans who are transitioning into the civilian workforce. #hireaveteranday #veteranjobs #veterans #hireaveteran #teamJST #govcon #WOSB #SDVOSB #smallbusiness #womanowned #vetbiz #veteranownedbusiness #vetowned #vets

Have you considered recruiting ex-military candidates? Ex-military candidates (veterans) have a strong work ethic, high aptitude to learn and integrate quickly and easily and bring the values and ethics taught from their military training to the commercial workplace. As well as a strong work ethic and a focused attitude, employers have noted that ex-military workers are dedicated as well as fully engaged with their job roles. As well as being highly educated and qualified, their military job roles and transferrable skills mean than can easily hit the ground running and get up to speed into a commercial role. So, which hero will you hire? “When Heroes are hired, Business grows stronger!” 👉 https://buff.ly/3G0T3at #Veterans #ExMilitary #ExForces #JobsForVeterans #ExMilitaryRecruitment #DiversityandInclusion #Diversity #DnI
