Absolutely catching people doing right is key to motivating and encouraging growth. "Find the good (water it/feed it) watch them grow, if you just find the bad you will watch them rot in self-disappointment and they will struggle to achieve anything." Focusing on the positives is not only beneficial for the individual, but it also creates a culture of positivity and growth within teams and organizations. Let's make a conscious effort to find the good in ourselves and others, and watch as we all thrive. #positivity #growthmindset

The vast majority of massive success comes in the commitment to humble action over the long-term. I often say I’m like a metronome, consistently showing up over and over and over again for as long as it takes. My new speaker reel is finally UP. WHEW. I teach about peak performance from the perspective of world records, business success and human connection… and sometimes that “peak performance” looks like getting something like this done. My purpose is people. With that I am committed to consistently adding value far greater than what I ask for in return. This has been a key pillar in my business for the last 20 years. One I still feel convicted around. Occasionally, our path can include a humble ask. Truly humble. If you’d like to share a humble ask in the comments, PLEASE DO. 🙏🏻 Here’s mine: If you feel curious, please watch my video. I'd truly love to hear your thoughts, and of course if you know anyone who is looking for a keynote speaker on peak performance or someone (aka me hehe) to lead a professional development session or series, I welcome those warm introductions anytime. Of course, there is never any pressure to deliver on these humble asks. Sometimes the bravery is simply making them at all… sharing information so people know more about what we do, what we care about and how we can contribute in the wider world. Win-win always and only. Much gratitude and love. #goteam ❤ https://lnkd.in/eSwfX9Qy _______________________ 👋🏻I’m Melanie Curtis. 🌿 I help you access your unique peak performance by exploring your edges. 🔥Bring me in to speak, coach your team or let’s dive in head first 1-on-1. I had the pleasure of doing a keynote at this year’s ABIC conference in Sydney. Love being able to share my journey, my mistakes and lessons learnt along the way. I talked about my 3 keys to growth in the aesthetic industry in 2024; 💥 To grow your business, grow your people. One of the most expensive mistakes in business is under developing people. It often means high performers leave - and low performers stay. Both expensive. Both linked to a lack of challenge and growth. 💥 To grow your people, get to know your people! Regular 1-1’s aren’t about having a chat about the weekend or, on the complete opposite, a performance management tool. It’s an outlet for you as a leader to get to know what drives and motivates your people. AND, what gets in their way of being their best they can be. It’s the only way you can truly lead them - help them achieve more than they think they can. 💥 Winning is a team sport! If you only incentivise individual performance you’re sending a message that they’re competing against each other - instead of against themselves. #leadership #beautyindustry #beautybusiness #businesscoach #womeninbusiness https://lnkd.in/g9ex64Az
GRY TØMTE on Instagram: "My own journey from starting a business - completely unprepared- to where I am today - contains many many lessons learnt. Often on the back of pretty epic f*ck ups! 🫣 So grateful I get to share my mistakes and lessons learnt in the back of them with an international and national audience. Thanks @aestheticbeautycouncil for having me speak at this year’s annual conference

During our team call this morning, one of my colleagues (shoutout Daniel Bullington, III) shared a quote from Ted Lasso. If you haven't had the pleasure of watching this show, I highly recommend. It reminded me of one of my favorite Ted Lasso quotes: "Are you trying to win or are you trying not to lose? There's a big difference there." This quote perfectly captures the mindset we need to adopt in our everyday efforts, both in work and personal life. It's about being intentional with our focus and our actions. Are we pushing forward with a winning mentality, embracing challenges and taking risks? Or are we playing it safe, merely trying to avoid failure? Our success hinges on our attitude and approach. By aiming to win, we can innovate, exceed our goals, and drive significant growth. Take a moment to reflect on your strategies and ensure that we are fully committed to winning, not just avoiding losses. Let’s use this as an opportunity to bring our A-game every day and make sure our efforts are aligned with our ambitions. #SalesLeadership #TedLassoWisdom #WinningMindset #IntentionalFocus

Last week I shared an activity that we do in the Leading Yourself and Leading Others experience. This week I’d like to talk about the aha’s and outcomes that participants gain from another activity. Whilst not sharing the details of the activity, I am hopeful that this week’s thought will get you thinking about how you make decisions. The activity is called “No Thinking Is Required, Only Action”. Participants are given a set of matchsticks and some instructions to complete the activity. They can ask for help if they need it. Insight number 1 – most won’t ask for help. Insight number 2 – if they do ask for help, they get feedback. If they choose a correct match they hear someone clapping. If they choose an incorrect match, they hear nothing. No thinking is required, only action. Here's what I've found: https://lnkd.in/ejB5Cw_8
