Happy Friday! I do love opening my emails from our wonderful director John McAteer. Had to share this one as well 😄 Success formula for recruiters. That shows why effort matters twice as much as talent: Talent x effort = skill Skill x effort = achievement. Talent is how quickly your skills improve when you invest effort. Achievement is what happens when you use those skills. Therefore your success as a recruiter depends on just two things: your talent and your effort. So talent absolutely matters. But effort factors into the formula twice. Meaning a recruiter twice as talented but half as hardworking as their colleague might reach the same level of skill but will still achieve dramatically less over time. My candidate call got cut short last week when these turned up at the door #sorrynotsorry Lucy Elliott got it bang on last week when she spoke about recruitment being the biggest 🎢🎢 Being super honest the last few months of recruitment have NOT BEEN GOOD. The market has been tough, I've had some really bad luck, a few candidates have ghosted me, recruitment on hold, processes have been changed last minute, etc etc! But it's not all bad because it's made me realise the below: 1. I am proud of how consistent I am even when work isn't going well and I feel less motivated (I never let it affect my output as I am far too stubborn for that haha) 🤙👍 2. It's important to look at the bigger picture/future rather than the RIGHT NOW. Things can change in less then 1 minute (especially in recruitment) 😄 So even in hard moments (professionally) there are still positives to be gained and really it comes down to your mindset which is something I would not have said a year ago 🤭🤭 #personalgrowth #personaldevelopment #personaldiscovery #hardworkpaysoff #mindsetmatters
