Thank you to our friend Graham Allcott for his weekly newsletter that drops at 16.05 every Sunday, and for this great question. When we choose to lead with humility and choose connection and kindness over being a micromanager or tyrant, then we build levels of trust that drive incredible results. Think Productive has "trust and kindness are our rocketfuel" as one of their corporate values for this exact reason. This ethos also permeates into their work - helping everyone from Disney to Cancer Research UK with productivity workshops, leadership and management programmes, team away days and all sorts of other things, and this human-centred approach is what helps them stand out from the crowd. So this week, I invite you to think about the role of humility and kindness in your work. What is power? How do you use it? How can you navigate the undeniable power dynamics in ways that feel comfortable and inspiring to those you work with? https://buff.ly/4483oP6 #Productivity #TimeManagement #InboxZero

Starbucks excels at incorporating storytelling and fostering human connection in their advertisements… They achieve this by ensuring RELATABILITY. ⭐ Specifically, in their "Every Table Has a Story" ad, Starbucks employs three strategies to craft a relatable narrative that resonates emotionally with viewers: - Highlighting Habits: If you're a Starbucks customer, chances are you've spent time at one of their locations working or studying while enjoying a cup of coffee. Instantly, Starbucks establishes a sense of relatability and connection by allowing viewers to envision themselves in the shoes of the customer portrayed on screen. - Creating a Relatable Struggle: The ad portrays a customer facing challenges in her job application process. Visibly frustrated and on the verge of tears, she experiences a setback that many can empathize with – the feeling of discouragement and self-doubt. This relatable struggle adds depth to the narrative. - Emphasizing Consistency: The theme of consistency runs throughout the ad, depicting the woman's determination to overcome job-search obstacles. Despite setbacks, she returns the next day with renewed motivation. Starbucks uses this theme not only to symbolize the woman's hard work, struggles, and perseverance but also to convey the idea that, no matter the challenges in one's professional life, Starbucks remains a reliable place for work, goal achievement, and a comforting cup of coffee. What are your thoughts on this ad? Does it make you want to visit your nearest Starbucks? Let me know in the comments! 👇 #storytelling #adcampaigns #analysis

Lessons in Communications, Marketing, and Leadership from Coldplay Lesson #2 🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘 “No way I am as adept on stage as Beyonce or Mick Jagger, but I am definitely the best at being me.” That’s how Chris Martin explains his approach to showmanship. 🦄 Martin’s “me” shows up on stage with his catchy familiar vocals, crowd-powered energy, a fair dose of humility, self-deprecating humor, and what seems to be genuine compassion for a great many things - from the band’s fans to the environment and humanity in general. But this lesson applies just as much to Dr. Pepper, which became America’s second favorite soda this month, as it does to the Coldplay frontman. After all, how did the regional cult favorite soda leap to the #2 spot in the U.S.? 🦄 By being unique. So here it is. Whether we are: - Advising our C-suite, - Guiding our clients, or - Considering how to position ourselves, Remember that we don’t find success when we are trying to be as good as somebody else. 🦄 The magic happens when you take the stage as yourself - with all the sparkle AND the dust that makes you (or your brand, or your company) unique. Stay tuned for Lesson #3 tomorrow. 📵 #Coldplay #LessonsfromColdplay #Communications #Marketing #Leadership #BeYou #Differentiation #MusicoftheSpheresWorldTour
