Gen Zs and millennials believe that GenAI will have a positive impact on their work-life balance and how they work, reveals Deloitte’s 2024 Gen Z and Millennial Survey. As per the report, 51% of the Gen Zs and 54% of millennials frequently use GenAI at work and strongly feel that it will free up their time for creative and strategic work. However, they are equally convinced that they will need to reskill and GenAI will influence their career decisions and cause some job loss. The survey also highlights how women are more upbeat about GenAI and slightly more comfortable working with it than men. Both generations, Gen Z and millennials, across genders are expected to seek training around GenAI. In addition, 8 in every 10 Gen Z, that is 81%, and 88% millennial respondents feel that their employers are providing sufficient training on the capabilities, benefits and value of GenAI. Job satisfaction and return to office policies 86% Gen Z and 96% millennials believe that workplace satisfaction and well-being are the key drivers to join an organisation. Interestingly, the generations are even willing to reject assignments and employers based on their ethics or beliefs as 69% Gen Zs and 67% millennials have rejected such assignments. Gen Zs and millennials also have high expectations from businesses addressing social inequality issues related to environment protection, inclusive employment opportunities, equal pay, mentorship, educational programmes, among other concerns. However, one of the top two reasons cited by Gen Zs for leaving an organisation, along with a lack of growth opportunities, is not being able to physically interact with their colleagues. #career #jobopportunities #thoughts #focus #success #challenges #ai #technology

Let`s talk about Generation Y ❗ For me, understanding the different generations in companies is the key to success and I am convinced that companies need to adapt more and more to generation Y, X, Z etc. Quite often I hear negative stereotypes about Gen Y and Z, but are they really true? 💭 I came across this talentor blog article and I surely gives a nice picture of Generation Y: https://lnkd.in/dhgUkQvx I have to admit thought that I do not agree with every point in the article. Of course, not everyone fits that picture and as stated in the blog it is hard to generalize problems, values, personalities etc. Who is Gen Y ❓ Generation Y, also known as millennials, are born between 1980 and 1995. There are around 1.5 million Gen Y workers in Austria, and the market needs them more than ever. We (yes, I am Gen Y) are viewed by the outside world as autonomous, receptive, inventive, and engaged. And we genuinely respect diversity in the workplace and inclusiveness (definitely agree). Gen Y people are referred to as digital natives (the first iPhone was born in 2007!) 📱, most people in my generation have a strong educational background and are referred to as future leaders. 💥 Scientist Friedericke Hardering studied Gen Y and explored the following themes as essential for us: ✔️ Having stability at work and a secure job – although this is only important when purpose and impact is given ✔️ Work and life need to be integrated – it blends, but there is a huge focus on having a life outside of work ✔️ Working very autonomously and seeking meaning in the employment As organizations, we must properly design an ecosystem that accommodates the many generations. We need to adapt certain processes. For me, it is highly relevant in recruitment to know the different generations. What do you think, organizations can do to create maybe not the perfect but a good workplace for all generations? 👨💻 🥑
