During our Pride Month DEI webinar, we heard from several associates about the history of Pride, how Pride has evolved, and the importance of allyship in and out of the workplace. Through true allyship, everyone can foster a culture of inclusion year round—strengthening the communities where we live and work. A special thanks to Matt Bettilyon (he/him) and Matthew McDonald (he/they), our Pride and Friends Business Inclusion Group (BIGs) co-chairs, and DEI Marketing Intern Kaya Dreger (she/they) for all the work that went into our discussion and sharing their experiences! #DiversityEquityInclusion #BoiseCascade #PrideMonth

🌈 Celebrating Pride Month 🌈 As we commemorate Pride Month, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the importance of diversity and individuality. 🏳️🌈 For me, this time of year serves as a reminder to honor and respect the choices of each person, embracing them for who they truly are. Throughout my journey, I've learned the value of authenticity and being true to oneself. Labels can often confine us to predefined boxes, and I firmly believe that everyone deserves the freedom to define themselves on their terms. 🚀 As an open-minded individual, I stand against judgment and criticism. Instead, I choose to celebrate and support the beauty of human uniqueness. By fostering a culture of acceptance and understanding, we empower each other to thrive and contribute our best to the world. Pride Month serves as a reminder that we should not only recognize but also champion the rights and freedoms of all individuals, regardless of their backgrounds, orientations, or choices. 🌟 Together, let's create an environment where everyone can express themselves authentically and be celebrated for it. Let's spread love and acceptance, not just during this special month, but throughout the year. 🤝 Together, we can make a positive impact on the lives of those around us and help build a society that embraces diversity and celebrates individuality. 🎨Founder of Vincent and Frida Ltd 💡 | DEI Lead for EMEA Vision Deliver at Johnson&Johnson | Building my career merging the best from both worlds.
Friday - Art Day. Today, work brought me to the V&A, and three things happened there: 1. I successfully met the client's needs for engaging, accessible content that doesn't alienate people who are new to the material. 2. I randomly met an old colleague who worked for me a few years ago, and she shared her career journey with me. I was thrilled to learn that she loves her new role, is working on interesting projects, and finds her environment fulfilling and inspirational. 3. I observed many children who came for a school trip and others brought by their parents to paddle in the V&A garden. I thought that for these kids, art will be a norm, just a way of life. I believe that each of these points is relevant to DEI efforts too. Listening to people is crucial for any change or initiative to take root. After all, people are our ultimate customers, so understanding their needs should be the number one priority. Feeling like you belong and that your contributions matter is important. Do we remember to tell those around us the exact impact they make and how their activities make a difference? Making something a norm requires consistent effort and follow-up until it becomes part of the organizational DNA. Is it a quick process? No. Does it require effort and resources? Absolutely. Will it pay off? Absolutely, but consistency and patience are key. Beautiful things take time to create. #dei #artatwork #diversity #inclusion #culture

On April 20th, we culminated our first annual DEI Day by announcing the Intentionally Inclusive Challenge, an initiative to drive actionable, meaningful change around Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for our employees, customers, and communities. The Intentionally Inclusive Challenge, or "IIC" for short, rests on three pillars - learn, engage, inspire. These pillars frame how we hope to spur and view action around DEI. Building an intentionally inclusive environment starts with extending a hand and having an open mindset. To truly value diversity and inclusion, it must be done purposefully by seeing everyone as equals deserving of decency and respect. As Adam Ingram, Lead Technical Training Manager at GenSpark and winner of Round 2 of the Intentionally Inclusive Challenge, notes, companies can tap into their workforce's full potential by keeping diversity, equity and inclusion front and center and treating all employees as equals. By taking a proactive approach to foster a culture of belonging, organizations can unlock innovation and productivity gains that come with diverse perspectives feeling welcomed. Thank you, Adam, for your insight. By participating in the Intentionally Inclusive Challenge, you are actively working to foster inclusion by building your understanding of DE&I concepts and applying them in real time. Efforts like these go a long way towards upholding a culture of inclusion. Are you Intentionally Inclusive? Join us and take the challenge today!!! As we embark on the journey of Hispanic Heritage Month at Cox Automotive Inc., we have the opportunity to celebrate and appreciate the rich tapestry of Hispanic cultures that have contributed to the vibrant mosaic of our nation. It is also a moment for us to reflect on the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. For many of us, Hispanic Heritage Month holds a deeply personal significance. It is a time to honor our ancestors, celebrate our traditions, and recognize the resilience of our communities. It is a chance to spotlight the achievements and contributions of Hispanic individuals throughout history and within our organization. Diversity, after all, is our strength. It is not just about having people from various backgrounds within our workforce, but about embracing the unique perspectives and talents that each person brings to the table. In doing so, we foster creativity, innovation, and inclusivity, which ultimately lead to a more dynamic and successful workplace. In the spirit of Hispanic Heritage Month, I encourage all of us to take a moment to learn about the cultures and histories that have shaped our Hispanic colleagues' lives. Engage in conversations, attend cultural events, or simply ask questions. By taking these small steps, we can create an environment of respect and understanding that extends beyond this month. Moreover, let us continue to champion diversity and inclusion in all aspects of our corporate culture. It's not just a box to check; it's a commitment to building a better, more equitable future for all. By fostering a workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered, we ensure that diverse perspectives are heard and that our collective potential is fully realized. As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, let us remember that diversity is not a static concept; it is a dynamic force that drives progress. It is our responsibility to nurture and cherish it within our corporate family. Together, we can create a workplace where every individual, regardless of their background, can thrive and contribute to our shared success. #hispanicheritagemonth #diversityequityandinclusion #yourvoicematters

Founder of Black Talent Awards & Evenfields | Public Speaker | Black Talent Pipeline | GenZ Attraction | Inclusive Recruitment | Sustainable Recruitment
I am often asked why I do what I do and this is 100% my why. Yesterday I travelled down to London for the launch of Action for Race Equality's #movingonup campaign hosted by one of our Black Talent Awards judges Joanne Conway at EY 's Canary Wharf offices, where I met, around 30 young black men who are impacted by bias in the recruitment process, it's a story I hear everyday and one I'm committed to change. It's not always bad news though, and I get excited for the future when I meet black talent who are determined to succeed against the odds - its fabulous to see them in spaces such as prestigious offices in Canary Wharf where they belong as much as anyonelse, and they finally catch a break - this is Michael Agwu - who has just finished his A-levels and has been offered a degree apprenticeship with PwC - he is determined to become an auditor, he is definitely one to watch 🙌🏾 Michael is one of many young men I met yesterday who have a bright future ahead, if their light is not dimmed by bias and rejection in recruitment processes. Also in the room was BYP Network, Duro Oye, Ian Benjamin, Omobola Odutayo MBE, Eric S., Neron Power Tony Hyland MBE, Mduduzi Mswabuki, Peter Alleyne and many more who care. Many who do the same or similar work to Evenfields Careers Ltd - are they my competition? 🤔 NO WAY! Collaboration over competition, there are not enough of us doing this work. I cannot sign off the post without a shout out to Neron Power - Power by name and power by nature! Neron was commissioned to create the film that goes with the campaign, in my opinion the film is the campaign, it tells the story of probably most of the black talent in the UK at some point in their lives - its powerful, true and resonates, once its released I will post it. ps it was great to catch up with #btafamily Joanne, Duro and Eric - we all got the wear blue memo 🤣 #canarywharf #blacktalent #collaborationovercompetition #bias #earlycareers

Leadership Development Expert & Leadership Coach | Championing Inclusive & Female Leadership for Extraordinary Impact | Speaker
🎉 As we continue through Hispanic Heritage Month, I invite leaders to see it not just as dates on a calendar 📆 but as opportunities to dive 🏊♀️ into the rich tapestry of diverse cultures that make up the organizations you belong to. It's not just about acknowledging this month; it's about celebrating 🥳 them in a way that fosters self-awareness 🙇♀️, personal development, and an inclusive mindset 🌈. For example, consider implementing a 'Cultural Storytelling Day' 📖 where employees share anecdotes from their lineage—a platform that allows for the sharing of beautiful narratives and traditions and, in the process, fosters understanding 👂 and acceptance ❤️. Another example could be having 'Food Festivals' 🍽️ where colleagues get to sample different cuisines from around their countries. Breaking bread together 🥖, after all, is a universal sign of solidarity 👫. A third example could be organizing 'Heritage Workshops.' 🎨 The hands-on experience of crafting traditional art or learning a folk dance 💃 brings people together like nothing else. Living cultural differences within your company is not just about observing traditions; it's about celebrating as if you were part of it.🥂 You create a more robust, vibrant organizational culture when you seek understanding and are curious to know every thread of diversity 🌍. The result? An environment where everyone feels seen 👀, heard 👂, and respected—a place where everyone is encouraged to bring their authentic whole self to work every single day 🌟. So....dive into your roots, sharing your heritage. Your story matters. Your culture matters. You matter. 💪 #hispanicheritagemonth #inclusiveleadership #latinos #authenticity #culture #D&I
