Recently, our beloved job board, 🥸Indeed reported a strong participation rate among prime-age workers, thanks to the consistent demand for labor and a rebound in immigration post-pandemic. However, this growth may be short-lived as demographic trends suggest a potential decline in the labor force participation rate in the coming years. 👆👆👆 i’ve been studying these numbers for a few years now. ↘️ In contrast, HR Dive highlighted that one in three employers anticipate higher turnover in 2024, pointing to the ongoing dynamic nature of the job market. 🫰This turnover is costly, averaging $4,000 per emplyee due to lost productivity and rehiring expenses. 1 in 3 employers say they anticipate higher turnover in 2024. Lastly, amidst these changes, several companies are announcing layoffs and hiring freezes, reflecting the uncertainties in various sectors. Notable examples include major cuts at technology firms and automotive giants, indicating a cautious approach to workforce expansion as economic conditions fluctuate.
