I’m excited to share that I recently participated in the KLEOS 2.0 Hackathon at Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology with my talented team Athul Nair, Subhashish Mahapatra and Nishank Jain.
Our team was called OneLastTime. and this event marked the last hackathon I’ll be tackling with this incredible group, and it was an experience filled with innovation, teamwork, and a touch of nostalgia.
Our project addressed a crucial issue: Using AI Chatbots to Tackle Health Misinformation. Healthcare chatbots have the potential to provide instant and reliable medical information to patients, thereby improving access to trustworthy health details. Our challenge was to create AI-based chatbots that could share information on public health issues and generate accurate responses to common queries, with a focus in ensuring that these answers are correct and have been verified.

And here's a brief overview of how our solution "MedServ" works:
1. User Query Submission: The user sends a query to the LLM.
2. Vector Database Check: The LLM checks the user's query against the vector database (Qdrant), which contains verified and trusted health information. If the data is present, the response is sent back to the user.
3. Web Search for Unavailable Data: If the data is not present, an AI Agent conducts a web search using crewAI and Serper API. The web-scraped data is then sent to a panel of medical experts for verification.
4. User Notification: The result is shown to the user with a warning:
⚠️ This data was taken from the web. Please wait for our medical experts to verify the data.
5. Expert Verification: When the medical experts verify the data, the user is informed via Email. If the web result is incorrect, the experts provide their trusted opinion.
6. The final, trusted, and verified source is added to the vector database, creating an ever-growing set of accurate data.
Participating in the KLEOS Hackathon with OneLastTime has been a significant milestone in my journey. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together and grateful for the support and inspiration from everyone involved. Here’s to new beginnings and the exciting adventures ahead!
