🌟 Excited to share insights from our latest field study, authored by Charles C. Davis Jr. Ed.D., CDP and edited by Julie Allen, on the crucial role of the public sector in cradle-to-career place-based partnerships. At EdRedesign, we have been exploring the role of the public sector in cradle-to-career place-based collaborative action since the launch of our By All Means community of practice in 2016. The study reveals: 🔍 the current state of public-sector engagement in collaborative action initiatives supporting children, youth, and families; 🚀 the challenges in engaging the public sector in these efforts; 🤝 potential effective roles and relationships between the public sector and cradle-to-career place-based partnerships; and 💡 the additional supports needed to catalyze public-sector engagement. Last week, I had the incredible privilege of attending the State Policy Network's 31st Annual Meeting, held in the vibrant city of Chicago, IL. This event was an enlightening experience, bringing together thousands of dedicated state and local leaders, all driven by a shared commitment to empower Americans and enhance their quality of life. The SPN Annual Meeting was a dynamic platform where leaders converged to tackle the challenges of our time and explore innovative solutions that promote freedom and prosperity. Through engaging panel discussions, insightful workshops, and invaluable peer interactions, we delved into the realm of state-based policy solutions aimed at improving the lives of fellow Americans. 🎙️ We were honored to have Mitch Daniels, the former governor of Indiana and president of Purdue University, as this year's keynote speaker. His wisdom and vision shed light on the pivotal role that local governance plays in rebuilding trust in government and addressing the myriad challenges we face as a nation. 🏆 The event also celebrated the remarkable accomplishments of Network leaders and organizations dedicated to making a difference through state-based solutions. The Annual Awards Dinner was a standout moment, where we recognized the outstanding contributions of state think tanks and Network leaders who are effecting profound change in their respective states and communities. But perhaps one of the most rewarding aspects of the Annual Meeting was the opportunity to build connections and forge a sense of community. It was a platform for attendees to foster relationships with peers, mentors, experts, and philanthropic leaders, all of which promise to be instrumental in our personal and professional growth. In a time where collaboration and innovation are paramount, the State Policy Network's Annual Meeting serves as a beacon of hope and progress. Together, we can accelerate state-based solutions, inspire groundbreaking ideas, and work towards a future where self-determination and opportunity are accessible to all Americans. 🌟 Reflecting on a Journey of Impact 🌟 Every stage of my career has been a stepping stone, each with its own set of rewards and lessons. From my early days, navigating the complexities of the federal government, to now, where my path has intertwined with incredible organizations making real-world impacts, the journey has been profoundly enriching. One of the most pivotal realizations came during my service in government – the undeniable gap between the hands-on work of practitioners and the decision-making processes at higher levels. It highlighted the critical need for a bridge; a voice that could carry the invaluable insights from the ground to the halls where policies are shaped. Today, I find immense joy and honor in being that bridge. Partnering with organizations, like Safe House Project, I have the privilege of amplifying their voices, advocating for their causes, and ensuring their groundbreaking programs are recognized and supported. Witnessing the direct impact of this collaboration, seeing policies evolve in ways that genuinely benefit those on the ground, is beyond rewarding. It's a reminder of the giants among us like Kristi Wells - those tirelessly working to make a difference in their communities and beyond. To walk alongside them, to be part of their journey, and to play a role in elevating their work, is a privilege I hold dear. I love my job not just for what I do, but for who I get to do it with. It's about partnership, advocacy, and making a tangible difference. Here's to the ongoing journey, the partnerships we forge, and the impact we create together. #PolicyAdvocacy #GovernmentRelations #StrategicPartnerships #SocialImpact #ProfessionalJourney

FYI, the Good Advisors Finish First Blueprint is Open Source Several people recently expressed concern that our adherence to Principle 5 (Be Radically Transparent) opens the door to competition. A) Thank you for your concern 😊 B) Our Cause is so much bigger than our private community and I hope we inspire many many more to help us shorten the race ✊ C) 🤣🤣🤣 If you're worried about how I'm gonna eat while the bigger pie is in the oven, don't be. The IP behind what we're actually doing lives in my head, and even I don't have the patience to listen to myself explain it...neither does my mom 🤷♂️ So, what makes our community different? Formula is actually pretty simple: Our members are not a product. They are our EXCLUSIVE constituents. And while, Principle 1 (EVERYONE is Invited) means we're amassing a trove of unfiltered, unbiased, GENUINE value, Principle 2 (Seating is Limited) means that value can be accessed EFFICIENTLY (as near vacuum as we can make it). Principle 3 (Mercy > Justice) means that we're not going to waste time disparaging anyone who doesn't take a seat today, However Principle 15 (Focus On the Process, Surrender the Outcome) means we're also not going to apologize for nailing the chairs to the floor. EVERYONE is invited, but this ain't for everyone. 👈That's the real value! Of course, Principle 12 (Everything is Strategic with a Tactical Overlay) means chair alignment may be reassessed periodically, But That'll be up to our our members 😉 We're 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 Whatchu been up to?
