One of my biggest takeaways from this article is how many people are turning to friends and family for financial advice as opposed to their employers. I think we all know the mixed bag of advice available from our personal networks (even when well-meaning). Employees need to know that their employers have their backs, which is most achievable with a thoughtfully-designed holistic financial wellness benefit. You can roll one out (or significantly improve current offerings) at little to no cost to the organization or your employees. It will add so much value in their lives, drive better productivity, and lower turnover!

We're seeing a 9% increase in employers reviewing their financial wellness offerings, up to 69% this year alone! Everyone has felt the pinch when talking about the economy, and how we stay afloat changes from person to person. Even young people are pulling back on contributing to their 401k to help themselves out.
