If you found out that your child needed a heart transplant to live, what would you do? Would you call your elected officials to ask them where to take your child? Of course not! You would search for a reputable pediatric heart surgeon whose education, training and experience qualifies them as an expert as a pediatric heart transplant surgeon. You would do everything you could to ensure your child has the best opportunity to live their best life. Keep this in mind every time you want to say, promote, share, or vote anything anti-LGBTQ+. Neither you nor your elected officials have any education, training, experience or expertise in this area. Stop acting like it's different simple because it's about LGBTQ+ individuals, it's the same thing. You wouldn't want anyone being in control of what is best for you and your children, so please don't have that kind of double standard. Let's get back to having common sense, using our brains to think critically, and relying on facts and data to help us make informed decisions for ourselves. Let's get back to being decent human beings who respect each other. Thank you APA for taking this stand! We need others to do the same.
