Accuracy permitting, drones are an excellent way to gather a large amount of spatial data in a short period of time.
Provided that the platform and sensors are calibrated, usable ground control points (GCP's) are employed, data can be to a high degree of accruacy; typically ranging from 2-5cm.
Such spatial data are an excellent way to gain an overview of site progress and enable monitoring, as well as provide insights into cut/fill analyses.
This survey displays an ongoing snapshot of earthworks and demonstrates how the drone data are being used to monitor the progress and ensure the desired elevation is achieved, ready for the next phase of works.
Not only does this allow users of the our data to quickly assess the entire entire, it reduces the on-site presence of personnel and surveyors across the site, resulting in direct savings in both time and money. From a health and safety perspective, it also enabled safer data collection methods without putting our surveyors at risk of heavy civil machinery.
With CAA and EASA qualified pilots, we can provide services throughout the UK and the EU.

There are various benefits of using drones in construction projects. In planning a building, they can be sent to the site from the design phase to give feedback on how work is progressing.
Drones fitted with cameras and sensors can capture aerial photos and videos of the land during site planning. This helps builders understand how land is laid out and what is its characteristics from an overhead perspective. Additionally, drones will indicate any obstacles or hazards that must be addressed prior to beginning construction.
Moreover, once ground has been broken, higher level surveillance can still be done by drones. For documentation purposes, they take pictures regularly as more structures get built on the site. It allows contractors to identify potential problems that may affect costs or timing early enough. Other drone applications include looking at some factors like flatness of concrete pours or structure alignment to determine quality of work accomplished
Drones equipped with thermal sensors can also check for roofs with hidden leaks and damages not visible from the ground. They may scrutinize parts of a building which are difficult for anyone else to reach during construction too. The aim here is confirm that all areas meet quality standards before works could be considered complete.
As construction projects become larger and more complex, drone applications will see even more gains in terms of efficiency, #productivity and #safety.

Drones with Flamethrowers: Innovative Solution for Clearing Power Line Debris
Drones equipped with flamethrowers are used to remove debris from high-tension power lines safely and efficiently. The process involves equipping drones with flamethrower attachments and having trained operators remotely pilot them to the target area. Once positioned, the drone carefully incinerates the hanging materials without damaging the power lines. This method minimizes the need for manual labor at dangerous heights, enhancing safety and efficiency in maintaining power line infrastructure. Continuous monitoring ensures the operation is controlled and safe, preventing unintended damage. This innovative approach streamlines the removal of obstructions from power lines.

Let's Talk about the Benefits of Drones in Infrastructure!
Our infrastructure is aging rapidly and needs methods to be able to inspect and analyze them rapidly and accurately. Conventional methods have their place but in most instances of visual-only inspection are slow, expensive, prone to errors, and put personnel in dangerous positions.
For an example, look at bridge inspections. A Snooper truck to inspect the underside of a bridge could cost $7000 a day roughly without a crew or the cost of the lane closure and put crews in potentially harmful conditions if the truck were to tip. This can trap crews under bridges for hours while awaiting rescue.
For another example, this Dam that we helped to inspect for the City of Spokane would have required the shutdown of multiple spillway gates for conventional methods. Then the erection of scaffolding for crews to visually record all potential cracks. This would lead to lots of downed operational hours along with putting crews in potentially hazardous scenarios and driving up inspection costs and time to a deliverable. And if you missed something, getting that information again is just not cost-effective.
However, this is where Drones and Reality capture methods shine. The use of Drones and other reality-capture tools.
-On Accuracy 🎯 , Drones can be rectified to control and coordinate to maintain scale and accuracy within a couple of centimeters or less. Areas that may be missed are easier to recapture and, depending on the capture method, are far more complete in their capture and modeling.
-On efficiency 🏃♂️ , Drones are by far a faster method by which from deployment to completion of capture. Allowing for minimal impact on the operation of that infrastructure and even allowing for continued operation.
-On Safety 👷♂️ , These technologies allow for crews to stay out of harm's way and utilize conventional methods only when necessary instead of for every job. Everyone comes home.
-Cost Savings 🤑 , Less crew utilization, less shutdown, less mitigation, faster and more thorough capture, Better deliverables, and fewer safety issues are all contributing factors to this equation.
It's time we start getting smart with our infrastructure, get eyes on target, and change the way things are done.

Drone Inspections: Collect accurate data safely
Today drone inspections are performed in numerous industries that need visual inspections as a part of their maintenance procedures.
Companies use them to collect accurate data safely, which results in huge cost-savings and more informed decision-making.
Inspection drones are utilized across different industries like energy, construction, agriculture, public safety, mining, etc.
Drones safely inspect electrical equipment, cooler towers, solar panels, pressure equipment, and other infrastructure.
The drones are equipped to avoid obstacles and navigate very close to structures. They can take high-resolution videos or images showing damage, cracks, or other defects at angles that humans can’t access.
Inspector will no longer need to climb the whole tower and look for areas that need maintenance. The drone’s camera acts as the inspector’s eyes during drone inspection. This way, visual data is collected and later reviewed in detail.
Drones conduct repeatable missions and ensure the data is consistent every time. A drone inspection provides a more efficient and cost-effective solution as it enables frequent checks to identify any problem right away.
