It’s official! As of today, Carrols Corporation is part of the Burger King U.S. and Restaurant Brands International (RBI) family.  In January, we announced plans to acquire our largest U.S. Franchisee, Carrols, which includes a portfolio of more than 1,000 Burger King across 23 states and 59 Popeyes restaurants across 6 states. The goal of the acquisition is to accelerate the modernization of more than 600 Carrols restaurants over the next five years, with the help of a $500M investment from RBI, and to refranchise the majority of these locations to new and existing Franchisees that bring passion, care and operational expertise to the business.    This is all part of our strategy to Reclaim the Flame – from the $400M investment announced in 2022, to the additional $300M investment announced earlier this month toward accelerating our image to 85-90% modern image by the end of 2028, and now the acquisition of Carrols. We are more committed than we’ve ever been to the future of our iconic brand and look forward to giving our Guests a consistently excellent experience when they visit Burger King across the country.

I worked for BK under 2 franchisees and under RBI themselves, and while the “talk” was good by RBi the “Actions” was a joke. The franchisees invest nothing and try and operate these facilities under Pennies while putting all the mental stress on the upper side of the management, this is due to the fact that royalties are so high and facilities are so used they have no money to put back into them, not to mention these “text book smart” fools think “they” know what’s best for a business they never even visit or try and get involved with 😂 All the mean while the prices of the food keep going up and they try and pass this “100s of millions” “reclaim the flame” expense onto the customers!! I watch every Bk around me dead as a door nail! Meanwhile McDonald's is always packed and busy…why? Because they understand that it takes “bodies” to implement good customer service and because they got the business they can afford to have the “labor” what was once a “iconic” business (BK) because they did it for the consumer will eventually fade away (mind you 26,000 locations, or more) now they operate for the money, and they’ll fade (except maybe the 50 “original” locations in Florida) because customers are tired of the crap they get Good Luck

Who would I reach out to about possibly becoming a franchisee of some of these locations?

Congratulations! Carrols restaurants have historically been operationally very well run because of their scalability and caliber & retention of management. Careful with this distributed franchisee model to not put these restaurants in the hands of entities that may understand local markets well, but are lacking in the sophistication to maintain operational, quality, service, and cleanliness standards. Best of luck!

I no longer go to Burger King because of the service I got the last time I went there. The employees tried fighting my husband!!

Congrats. This is the largest % of company owned restaurants in the BK since the mid- 80’s.

As a Florida based company, we can’t be prouder of Burger King upping their branding and recommitting to service for their millions of customers. If you need any refreshes of the exterior for landscaping, keep Nunez Landscaping in mind. We cover the whole state of Florida for many large partners.
