🤔 When will green hydrogen become dominant energy storage? 📉 In analysis below is shown inability of an electrolyser to operate at variable loads which is a feature of renewable sources. And the requirement of a stable and continuous power supply is the main disadvantage of the technology. 💡 But the review missed the complex system in consideration. If the electric batteries are installed between renewable sources and an electrolyser then the last one operates in stable condition and for a longer time. H2B2 Electrolysis Technologies, a company that specialises in green #hydrogenenergy solutions, has introduced SoHyCal, the largest operating green hydrogen production #plant in North America that is powered exclusively by renewable energy. This innovative concept will transform the market for #renewableenergy and open the door to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future. H2B2's facility, which is located in the Central Valley of #california , has the capacity to generate three tonnes of green hydrogen daily. This will encourage the use of clean energy sources and aid in the reduction of carbon emissions. From a technological and financial perspective, the project entails building, funding, and running a PEM-powered hydrogen #manufacturing plant that is entirely renewable. Since the facility runs solely on renewable energy, it is evidence of California's dedication to clean and sustainable energy sources. SoHyCal intends to supply the increasing demand for hydrogen, particularly in the transportation sector where it can help cut emissions and decarbonize mobility. It has a nominal capacity of up to three tonnes per day. Currently in its first phase of operation, #SoHyCal produces around one tonne of green hydrogen per day by utilising advanced electrolysis technology and renewable energy sources. By the second quarter of 2024, the second phase is anticipated to generate three tonnes of green hydrogen per day utilising renewable energy from a photovoltaic #solarplant . This much hydrogen will be sufficient each year to power up to 210,000 automobiles or 30,000 municipal buses. In the pursuit of a more environmentally friendly energy transition, SoHyCal stands for California's dedication to the research, development, and promotion of clean and sustainable #hydrogen fuel technologies. According to Pedro Pajares, CEO of H2B2 USA, "the project is poised to significantly contribute to the surging demand for hydrogen, particularly for transportation applications, the reduction of emissions, and the decarbonization in mobility." Because hydrogen fuel cell #technology offers zero emissions and maintains a range and refuelling time equivalent to conventional #vehicles , it has the potential to completely transform the transportation industry. Furthermore, energy generation facilitated by hydrogen has the potential to be a flexible solution that can quickly discharge and respond to the demands of grid ancillary services.
