When Femita Ayanbeku was 11 years old, she was in a car accident that resulted in the loss of her right leg below the knee. She attended a running and mobility clinic where she was introduced to the CAF community, and she went on to become the US women’s T64 100m National Champion after just six months of training! Femita's been on the national team since 2016, and an Össur Sports Prosthesis Grant will help her level up and fulfill her next sport dreams - including the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.

A clinical trial published in the British Medical Journal reveals a game-changer for tennis elbow treatment! 📚 The study found that a combo of MWMs and exercise brings superior benefits in the first six weeks compared to the "wait and see" approach and even beats corticosteroid injections after six weeks! Corticosteroid injections might seem like a quick fix with short-term gains, but be cautious! ⚠️😧 After six weeks, the benefits tend to reverse, leading to high recurrence rates. 📉 So, best to use this treatment option carefully for tennis elbow management. 🚫 🆓 Free full text available at www.bmj.com. - #mulliganconcept #mobilisationwithmovement #physiotherapy #physicaltherapy #manualtherapy #mulliganconceptinternational #physiotherapyresearch #tenniselbow

When I was 13 I got my knee badly injured. I was a football player at that time and the "doctors" from RFEF told me that perhaps chess would be a better alternative from then on (literal! the kind of joke you'd like to hear at that age, isn't it?) Thanks to my parents, friends, several surgery sessions, and lots of hard work, I could manage to come back to football and sports. Every target achieved in sports has always tasted like glory to me. So, I've tried to push my limits further, setting what today we can state as SMART goals each time, and doing my best to reach them. Last april 28, I ran the #20kofLausanne for the first time. This might not be a big deal for most people but, by far, it's the longest distance I've ever ran. In my mind, again 3 goals: - 1st: Finish the race! - 2nd: No injuries, please. - 3rd: Beat the 2h challenge. This is like life itself: I couldn't achieve any of these goals without having check-marked the previous one. #Fulfilment is not about the size of the goals you achieve, but rather about how important they are for you. No wall can be climbed without planning small yet difficult movements. The result? I could finish the race...exhausted but not injured. But next year I'll try to beat the 18 seconds that could've made that race just perfect! 😉 💪 #sports #challenge #motivation #stories #inspire 20KM de Lausanne

Tennis elbow ( lateral epicondylitis) is a type of tendinitis (inflammation of the tendons) in the elbow. Tennis elbow can be very painful and limit range of motion. Overuse causes tennis elbow, which is very common in athletes, such as tennis players, who frequently repeat the same motion over and over again. If tennis elbow affects the quality of your life, Dr. Pierre-Pierre at South Florida Orthopaedics can help. The most common symptom of tennis elbow is pain that radiates from the outside of the upper part of the forearm. In some cases, pain can be felt all the way down the arm to the hand and wrist. Other symptoms include: 1 Burning sensation up and down the arm or on the outer part of the elbow 2 Elbow and forearm weakness 3 Increased pain with activities that involve the forearm (holding a glass, opening a door, extending the forearm). If you think you may have tennis elbow, please, stop by the Hobe Sound Ortho injury clinic in Hobe Sound Florida, located at 9955 Se Federal Hwy, Hobe Sound, FL 33455. You can also call us at 772 261-6428.
