How is Shein and Temu changing the ecommerce landscape? "U.S. lawmakers have also been considering a change to import tariffs, accusing Shein and Temu of taking advantage of a rule that allows packages shipped individually to avoid tariffs, giving them an edge over businesses that ship by the container. A June report by a House of Representatives committee found that H&M and Gap paid $205 million and $700 million in import duties in 2022, respectively. Meanwhile, Shein and Temu paid nothing on the vast majority of their direct-to-customer shipments." Check out this article I did with Rest of World https://lnkd.in/gKfHfysi

China is stepping up when it comes to high-quality development of cross-border e-commerce. The first national Tmall International self-operated service center opened in Yangzhou this October. Just in time for the upcoming Single’s day shopping festival. Operated by Alibaba Group, this 5.000-square-meter center features 1.000 workstations and employs over 800 staff. The center includes customer service for Tmall International brands and end-to-end customer support. However, it doesn’t offer warehousing and logistics. Pair this news with the recent Hangzhou Qianjiang bonded warehouse trial for managing returned products. It’s clear China is working on enhancing international business expansion and cross-border e-commerce. What do you think about this project? How do these incentives help your brand in China? #ecommerce #singlesday
