Did you know that there are 23 government organizations that have a role in disaster emergency response? OHSEPR works with state and local human services agencies to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters. Check out their video below. #OHSEPR#disaster #
Disasters affect people. Responses should be tailored to fit their needs. But after a disaster, the most vulnerable individuals, children, families, and communities often have increased challenges on their road to recover.
The Administration for Children and Families, or ACF, supports vulnerable children, individuals, and families through its diverse human services programs and grants. That’s why ACF believes human services are essential for supporting people before, during, and after a disaster.
In our 2nd post, we’re introducing you to Disaster Human Services. It’s the bridge between emergency management and human services programs, and a key mission of the Office of Human Services Emergency Preparedness and Response (OHSEPR).
The new OHSPER video explains how focusing on Disaster Human Services during preparedness, response, and recovery planning and operations can make sure the most vulnerable receive the right services at the right time.
