Great insights. Thanks Gabor for sharing and Mr Cessario for saying. Assymetry in approach. Marketing’s challenge is super different company by company, product by product, region by region. You need to take a nuanced approach to what parts of tradition you inherit and apply and what parts of your plan you innovate based on your unique challenge today. You will need experienced human marketers to do this. AI can do a lot of the shit work to get there. New talent entering the industry can add insight and style. But there’s no way around the fact that you need at least one or two experienced disruptors like Mr Cessario or Gabor on the team. Go team #cannes2024 #liquiddeath #ABInbev

Great session with Mark Ritson with an irreverent call to action to marketers to focus on overall Marketing Effectiveness instead of just creative. I'll add that this doesn't need to be so difficult. Automating marketing budget planning on an analytics platform shared between the CMO and CFO can give the transparency, flexibility and predictive scenario capabilities you need to maximize ROI. #sapanalyticscloud
🚨UPCOMING WEBINAR🚨 If you didn't make it to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity this year, then you would've missed Mark's epic talk on how 'Creativity is not enough'. But not to worry, you're in luck. Consider this your invitation to his very own personal Croisette and extended version of his talk, as your favourite professor and columnist talks about the power of creativity and then takes an enormous crap all over it - in true Mark style, of course. 😉 Register now! https://ow.ly/X8ZE50Slt6A

ICYMI: Cannes may be over, but the Adland is still buzzing with insights and debriefs on the groundbreaking work showcased at the festival this year. Ben Essen has shared some thoughts on how creativity thrives on reimagining the past, featured in his piece for Campaign. He states, "...all the ground-breaking Grand Prix winners contain recognisable fragments of great ideas that have come before." He continues, "A [better] question for any creative review is: "We know this worked before, so how do we twist it for a new context?" This lets us leverage the proven effectiveness of past campaigns while infusing them with contemporary relevance." Read his analysis and explore the trends and winning work that filled the Croisette conversation: https://lnkd.in/ecYZXVfn #CannesLions #Creativity #Adland

So, after about 15 years of saying Cannes Lions was pointless I went to Cannes Lions last week. It was fun! And at the Festival of Creativity I gave a talk about how "Creativity was not Enough". It went down quite badly. But not as badly as I had hoped. So I am going to try again virtually instead. If you were too junior/senior/knowledgable/rich/broke/ignorant/strategic/creative to go to Cannes then I am bringing this talk to you, live, on Thursday. For the full Cannes effect you need to get incredibly pissed on Wednesday night, turn your central heating up to 30 on Thursday morning, then run madly up and down your stairs for 10 minutes before the talk starts. Afterwards, bemuse your kids by drinking two litres of Rose in front of them while bemoaning my POV and ordering lobster from an imaginary waiter who appears to be standing on the patio ignoring you. In the talk I look at the role that creativity plays in effectiveness, and the roles that it does not. I talk about why the Guinness Surfers ad is big old pile of indulgent wank. Why Liquid Death is a perfect product for marketers who don't get it. I will share with you the power of Tipsy the Wonderdog, and we will look at where marketers should be focused. Clue: not making their ads any more creative. Sign up for thrills, spills and hopefully a spiky Q&A after the talk. And if you live in some godforsaken part of the world like New York City or Sydney you can watch the talk later on demand but you still have to sign up first. We have 4,000 already registered and our platform starts getting wobbly beyond 10,000 so we will cap it. Not bluffing. Or am I?

Based on the Explori Exhibitor Insight Report 2023, 82% of potential exhibitors stated exhibit-related costs as a factor influencing their decision not to attend in-person shows! As an organiser, it’s obvious that a reduction in exhibitors leads to a decrease in ROI. That’s why we emphasise the importance of providing a diverse range of spaces to accommodate varying exhibitor budgets, increasing the likelihood of exhibitor attendance. To address budget constraints, we offer shell scheme alternatives that exhibitors will appreciate, as they can customise their space, offering a cost-effective way they can attend your event. For any concerns or questions regarding shell scheme options, please visit our website for more information - https://ow.ly/SIn150PFiKZ Source: https://ow.ly/6Plj50PFiL0 #eventprofsuk #eventsindustry #exhibitions #exhibitionstand #exhibitioncontractor #coventrybusiness #coventry #shellscheme #fullservice
