When you #ChooseWhoYouUse, you can select an energy plan that gives back. Since 2017, NRG’s Choose to Give program has contributed more than $10 million to local organizations, including Boston Children’s Hospital. #ChooseToGive#NewYear’sResolutions #2024
We’ve collectively built a set of norms, practices, and organizations to deliver funding for point solutions. Unfortunately, this architecture undercuts our ability to fund other critical drivers of system health that go beyond individual projects.
Changing the way we fund system health work will not be easy, but it is necessary to create lasting change. In this new blog, Rob Ricigliano and Anna Muoio propose three correctives that might help.

Another very enjoyable event in Rochester on Wednesday, hosted by Medway Council to launch the latest phase of their Shared Prosperity Funding.
Anyone based in Medway can apply for assistance in the three nominated categories; Pride In Place, People & Skills and a Feasibility Fund and there are generous levels of support available for successful applicants.
If you would like to discuss your project with the dedicated Medway SPF team, they can be contacted at MedwayUKSPF@medway.gov.uk.
The event was very well supported and the audience consisted of a wide selection of people active in the Medway area, from those organising community groups or involved in community care, those interested in green energy and the environment, through to a variety of straightforward business and commerce - and everything in between!
One of the most notable outcomes was that, having all been assembled in the same room, it was amazing how people with outwardly quite disparate areas of interest suddenly started talking about shared aims and collaborations.
If ever there was a perfect example of how the world works much better when people actually come together and talk to each other face-to-face, this was it, so well done Medway Council.
I look forward to attending more of your planned events in the future.
And finally, therefore, a plea to everyone; remember that we are all social animals and can achieve much more when we work together!!

🎄 It’s the fifth day of our Christmas countdown and we’re showcasing a topical report, released last month with Newton Europe.
The study sets out how hospital flow can be optimised, and makes the case for resource to be invested into community care:

Does your nonprofit work with artists or are you working in arts in health and don't know it? Do you know about The National Organization for Arts in Health (N.O.A.H.)? It's an organization dedicated to the arts in health field. There are a lot of artists already doing this work and don't realize it. So, if you haven't heard about N.O.A.H. they will be having their conference in Cleveland next week in partnership with The Cleveland Clinic and The Metrohealth System for their annual N.O.A.H. conference “2023” from September 19-21 at Playhouse Square. ARTISTS that use their creativity and art to heal should consider attending the NOAH conference because it informs and educates participants on current and emerging topics in the field, highlighting best practices and current programs to connect an ever-expanding community that inspires conversation, collaboration + innovation. Discover ways to use your art and creativity to help heal your community.
As the American healthcare system begins to consider taking a whole person approach to health in an effort to address the social determinants of health, art and ARTISTS will play a huge role in this being successful, therefore the arts in health field needs ARTISTS that reflect the multicultural populations that our healthcare system serves knowledgeable of best practices and protocols when operating in the arts in health field. These are some of the reasons ARTISTS that are interested in the cross section of art + health should attend the N.O.A.H.
Realizing the high costs of entry creating a barrier for artists and the need for artists to be present at the N.O.A.H. conference through partnerships with Metrohealth and Cleveland Clinic Assembly for the Arts was able to successfully advocate for a limited quantity of discount tickets for artists that are members of Assembly to attend and participate in N.O.A.H. to learn more of the field, learn new ways to help their community and network with healthcare professionals and artists from around the world. (When you see the regular cost of registration you will understand why we were only able to wrangle a limited quantity.) Even with the $25 cost of membership with Assembly for the Arts there is an 80%+ savings on N.O.A.H. conference registration tickets. If you are an ARTIST and a current or new member of Assembly and would like to attend the N.O.A.H. conference, please send an email to Vee@Assemblycle.org to state your interest about arts in health and receive your discount link. There are only a few remaining. Get yours while they last.

The Eighties was marked by the unprecedented expansion of Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation’s programs, services and locations. But it was not without its challenges: federal regulations sought to contain rising hospital costs and the growing demand for services transformed rehabilitation into a highly competitive industry. As noted in one annual report, “Kessler must respond to this new environment both carefully and creatively.”
Kessler Institute’s leadership in the use of electronic equipment to improve diagnosis and function prompted New Jersey Bell Telephone Company to donate computer systems to the hospital in 1983.
To support our patients’ recovery, Kessler Institute brings innovation and leading-edge technologies to treatment - and continues to research the most promising new avenues of care.
