One week ago, this idea was born via text. Today, it made history. Molly Baz has become the first pregnant woman to ever be on a cereal box. This idea came to be in the most exciting, organic, magical, awesomely chaotic, daunting but also deeply trusting way. And funny enough, I was filled with all of the same feelings while I was pregnant less than a year ago. This idea is for us. No matter your pregnancy journey, our journeys - and our big, glorious bellies - deserve to be seen on the world’s biggest stages and unapologetically celebrated. Our first Special Edition box is just the beginning for how we’re going to show up in big ways for pregnant women and more people. Because as we say on Special K, a cereal is only as special as the people it’s designed for. Thank you to my Leo Burnett, MSL (Global) and WK Kellogg Co teammates and friends who worked lovingly and meticulously on this idea. Who worked so much and so fast, it felt as if they added hours to the day. Who didn’t hesitate to hop on a plane, work all night, text all day and collaborate endlessly. These days, it feels increasingly harder to create and sell ideas that feel so deeply human. But tonight, I got to tell my 9 month old daughter, “I did this for you” - for the first time in my career. And that felt pretty damn special. When my wife was pregnant with my daughter (20 years ago!) she craved Special K for 9 months straight! Could not get enough 😂. This brought me back to that sweet time. Well done!
