MBHC believes that by building stronger connections and coordination of care, we can positively improve the trajectory, not only for the individual but also for our community, justice systems, and Missouri as a whole! Specifically, our Missouri Crisis Intervention (CIT) Team, Community Behavioral Health Liaison (CBHL), and Emergency Room Enhancement (ERE) programs work with local stakeholders to build stronger partnerships. MBHC is continually working to improve, advance, and grow our programs. Emergency Room Enhancement (ERE) programs, also known as emergency room diversion programs, are designed to reduce barriers that prevent individuals from seeking care in the most appropriate setting. The primary objective of these programs is to reduce the use of emergency departments and hospitalizations while decreasing rates of homelessness, unemployment, and arrests/law enforcement involvement by engaging individuals in treatment and utilizing community supports. Motivational Speaker | Exec Coach | Corp Wellness Consultant | Trainer & Workshop Facilitator | Mental Health First Aid Instructor | Mindfulness Meditation | Board Member, NAMI Hillsborough | Zero Suicide Alliance
In Tampa, our mission is to support veterans through collaboration between the Veterans Administration (VA), Cove Behavioral Health, and the newly formed Zero Suicide Alliance, led by Dr. Joe Bohn of USF. It's an honor to work alongside this dedicated group as we take a public health approach to reduce suicide rates in our area. During our recent event, we had the privilege of sharing resources and directly connecting veterans with employment opportunities, as well as physical and mental health services. We also provided assistance with food, housing, and substance abuse recovery. Many organizations participated, including the VA Hospital, Turning Point Tampa, NAMI Hillsborough, Cove Behavioral Health, USF Health, and many more. The Veterans Administration is taking concrete steps to enhance behavioral health services for veterans by constructing a new 150,000-square-foot facility in Tampa, Florida. As someone with lived experience dealing with anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts, I'm committed to veterans' mental health. I'm currently leading Mental Health First Aid classes tailored to military personnel, veterans, and family members aged 18 and above for free. Paid by a grant. In Tampa, numerous organizations are leading the way in transforming the lives of veterans in transition. We prefer not to use the term 'homeless' as it carries negative connotations. I urge schools, community organizations, and government agencies to adopt more positive language when addressing this demographic. Transitioning individuals should also consider reframing their self-perception. We need greater access to affordable housing, and landlords should be more willing to work with those who have eviction histories. Allocating 2% of apartment inventory for eviction cases and repurposing old malls, hotels, office buildings, and schools into one or two-bedroom efficiency units can help address this issue. Furthermore, container home communities, tiny home communities, and manufactured home communities are needed to provide alternative housing solutions. #veterans #HCZSA #mentalheathawareness #Tampa #Tampabay #va #vahospital #tampaveterans #news #contentcreator #Navveteran

In many parts of the world young girls are vulnerable to trafficking as they flee conflict, persecution, and poverty. That is where our partner Walk With Me comes in. They provide safe community centers that become a sanctuary filled with hope and healing. ♻️But the holistic approach does not stop there. Walk with Me offers rehabilitation homes available to these women and girls as secure spaces and a place to escape the dangers of their pasts. ⚕️They have access to medical treatment and ongoing healthcare to address physical injuries, illnesses and trauma related health issues, and even trauma informed counseling and therapy. 📕To empower survivors there are educational programs, literacy classes and vocational training. Workshops and empowerment programs encourage survivors to rediscover their self-worth and develop a positive self-image. This is a crucial step in their journey toward recovery and independence. 🖌️Also essential to the programs are the recreational activities and creative expression sessions through art therapy, music therapy, and sports. These programs help provide survivors with healthy outlets for emotions and stress relief. https://walkwithme.global #walkwithme @walkwithmeprojects

When was the last time you saw labor, business, healthcare, law enforcement, and civic leaders from all levels of government standing shoulder to shoulder on the same side of an issue? We’re proud to lock arms with all partners supporting Governor Gavin Newsom's transformative proposal to modernize California’s behavioral health system. It’s now up to voters to get #Proposition1 across the finish line. Vote YES on the March ballot to unlock billions for homelessness solutions that improve quality of life for all Californians. #YesOn1 #TreatmentNotTents •$1.05 billion would go toward housing for homeless veterans. •$922 million would go toward housing for Californians with behavioral health needs. •$4.393 billion would go toward grants for behavioral health treatment and housing.
