Do you know how many recipes are out there on Google for pasta with Bolognese sauce? If you guessed 69,500,000, you are totally right. While we all know how to make the famous sauce, we keep on searching for new and popular versions from bloggers and chefs all the time. So, why do we choose to engage with new content or information we already know? Because of the secret ingredient: The storytelling zest 🍝. We all know how to read the instructions of a recipe, we all know what hooks we need to gain more followers, and we all know how to buy a cheap flight ticket. But we still consume these pieces of content because of HOW people share this information. As consumers, we are not looking for the best Bolognese sauce; we are looking for the one with the best story. When more and more people are using apps like Instagram and TikTok as their search engine, the content that catches our attention will win. That’s how we can all build a piece of content that will capture attention: 👀 The consumer is you. The next time you want to create content for your brand or your clients, think of what will make YOU choose this piece of content rather than others. Be your own content consumer. 📹 Make it a video. There’s something original and authentic when you share your wisdom in your own voice. Plus, it doesn’t require equipment, and every smartphone can do the work. 🎣 Think about a hook that will make people stay and watch your content. It can be a question, an unusual frame, or a strong statement - anything you think will be interesting enough to catch the attention. 📣 Bring a personal connection. Remember, people don’t care about the sauce; they care about the story that got YOU making it and sharing it with them. 🔎 Make sure the plot of your story is interesting and make the adjustments. Think about why it is interesting for someone you have never met. Find an angle or something that will catch the attention of people and emphasize it. It can even be the way you share your story or edit it. ✨ And remember, none of us invented the wheel, yet there are so many brands that are selling us “the best car ever”. The way people guide us towards the bottom line is what we are really looking for. Don’t be scared to get creative and question the engagement factor all the time to improve your content :)
