Supply Chain is at least "one of the", and even "the" main stake of industries today. The Aerospace and Defense area is suffering from it, so do others. To help us navigate into this galaxy of challenges, some of my very seasoned colleagues have gathered a synthetic view of the situation as of today and for tomorrow into a Point of View dedicated to Supply Chain in Aviation segment. Would you like to share your thoughts with them directly, please join our Capgemini Aerospace & Defense team in Farnborough International Airshow from July 22 to 27. #aerospaceanddefense #intelligentindustry #getthefutureyouwant

KEYNOTE WEBINAR Operational Advantage in Climate Changed World – The Defence Aviation journey to Net Zero The MOD’s Global Strategic Trends analysis recognised climate change as a serious factor in the future national security context, increasing the likelihood for military intervention caused by climate security challenges. The Royal Air Force and wider Defence Aviation must maintain its operational advantage against such climate change threats, but there are other reasons why the Ministry of Defence would wish to deal with its impact on climate change and embark on a route to becoming net zero. Join Paul Lloyd CBE, past chairman of the IMechE Aerospace Division and deputy chief of the Air Staff, MOD, at his opening keynote webinar which will consider such arguments, how they differ from those that face civil aviation, and how this has led to the generation of a Defence Aviation Net Zero strategy. Back in the days in Norway, I met a few times with Lockheed Martin - at that time I was more interested in their investments in Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC, see: https://lnkd.in/dvjtwJtD ) and potential business opportunities for DNV than the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program of which Norway was part of. The JSF program is a +$1 trillion dollar project and included the United Kingdom, Italy, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, and formerly Türkiye (Note: Türkiye is now developing the TAI Kaan with Turkish Aerospace (TAI) and BAE Systems as its sub-contractor to replace their Lockheed Martin F-16 and Turkish Aerospace's Advanced Carbon Composites fuselage facility was actually commissioned to produce fuselages for the JSF program). I learned a lot about the geopolitics of the defence industry during those days and also later on while doing the Life Cycle Assessment and Life Cycle Costing of the Polygraph research project with BAE Systems where one intended use of graphene reinforced composite was indeed parts of the Eurofighter Typhoon jet (see picture bellow). As a French - or because of it cf. 1870, 1918 & 1945 - I always have been divided about Dassault Aviation to pursue our own jet fighter program: the Rafale, alone. Time is now to form alliances like Lockheed Martin did for the JSF and to learn lessons from it (cf. overcosts and partners leaving). There are now two "European" fighter jet projects - the The Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) led by the trio of BAE Systems, Leonardo and Mitsubishi Corporation and the Future Combat Air System (FCAS or SCAF in French) led by Dassault Aviation and Airbus. Is it good for Europe to have competing jet fighter programs? What do you think Bruno Trévidic cf. your article about GCAP vs FCAS in Les Echos here: https://lnkd.in/d-RTiugH ? #lockheed #saab #dassault #leonardo #baesystems #airbus #uac #kai PS: this post is 100% AI-free.
