Today we honor Juneteenth – a pivotal day in American history marking the emancipation of slaves. Also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, Juneteenth celebrates the resilience, culture, and contributions of the African American community. At CenTrak, we understand the importance of fostering a culture of belonging and psychological safety. By embracing diversity, we empower every team member to contribute their unique talents fully, driving innovation and growth. Here are some highlights of our DE&I efforts at CenTrak: - In 2023, we set specific recruiting goals to hire more diverse candidates, resulting in a 60% increase in African American hires. - 39% of all 2023 submittals have been from African American candidates. Juneteenth Facts: - On June 19, 1865, Major General Gordon Granger announced the end of slavery in Galveston, TX, 2½ years after the Emancipation Proclamation. - Juneteenth is the oldest known holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the US. - The Juneteenth Flag of Freedom symbolizes hope, with red, white, and blue representing American identity. - Opal Lee, the "Grandmother of Juneteenth," has tirelessly worked to raise awareness about this historic day. Let's take a moment to reflect on Juneteenth's significance in American history and commit to fostering diversity, inclusion, and belonging every day. Happy Juneteenth! #Juneteenth #DiversityAndInclusion #Belonging #FortiveCommunity #RTLS #Healthcare
