The move of Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes to Ferrari in 2025 has definitely sparked a lot of buzz!
Let's explore the potential implications for both Hamilton and Ferrari:
For Hamilton:
New Challenge: After a phenomenal career with Mercedes, this move could reignite his passion and motivation by offering a fresh challenge in a new environment.
Legacy Building: Joining Ferrari, the most historic team in F1, could solidify his legacy as one of the greatest drivers ever, especially if he achieves success there.
Higher Pressure: Ferrari famously comes with intense fan expectations and media scrutiny. Hamilton will need to adapt to this different pressure cooker.
Uncertain Team Fit: While Charles Leclerc is a talented teammate, integrating and finding harmony within a new team dynamic could be tricky.
For Ferrari :
Championship Contender: Pairing Hamilton with Leclerc, another top driver, could make them a dominant force and serious championship contenders.
Experience and Leadership: Hamilton's experience and winning mentality could be invaluable in propelling Ferrari towards title glory.
Brand Boost: Signing a legend like Hamilton would be a major marketing coup, boosting Ferrari's global image and attracting new sponsors.
Internal Dynamics: Managing two alpha drivers with championship aspirations could create internal competition and potential friction.

Walking down this amazing corridor must give goosebumps to many car enthusiasts. Recently I had a chance to test drive an facelifted Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and talked to the company's CEO Mr. Jean-Phillippe Imparato. As Alfa Romeo is going pure electric from 2024, I doubt how much Alfa essences could be retained in the EV era. They say they'll have 800V, wireless charging, its electric Quadrifoglio Cars will get 900-1000 horsepower. But could the Alfistis still love these electric Alfas? The same question goes for all supercar manufacturers, should Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren go pure electric? My answer is no. Further, I think it's time for these brands to tell the world that BEV does not work for these legacy sports car makers. Think about it, if these supercars ditch the engine roar and have a similar 0-100kph acceleration time as a Tesla or a BYD, what is the point of purchasing these 100k or 200k GBP cars?
Amazing McLaren open day this weekend and our 60th anniversary.
What an incredible group of cars from the 12C to the Artura. They are all soooo coool 😀

For those in the branding business, Ferrari's enduring legacy underscores the rarity and importance of longevity.
How can we replicate this success and create brands that become enduring icons?
Imagine a figure who embodies the essence of a racing driver, a team leader, a visionary, and ultimately, a dreamer. Enzo Ferrari personified all these roles, establishing a tradition of racing excellence that resonates across generations.
Formula One wouldn't be half the icon it is today without this man.
As we commemorate 126 years since Enzo Ferrari's birth, let us celebrate him as a founder and acknowledge his profound influence as the cornerstone of a racing heritage.

McLaren F1 LM
The McLaren F1 LM is a limited-edition supercar born from the iconic McLaren F1. Built to commemorate McLaren's victory at the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans, the "LM" stands for Le Mans. Only five F1 LMs were ever produced, making it one of the rarest and most sought-after supercars in the world. It features an unrestricted version of the F1's V12 engine, producing around 680 horsepower. In 2019, an F1 LM was sold in a private sale for approximately $19.8 million, highlighting its extraordinary value among collectors and enthusiasts. Its distinctive design, performance capabilities, and historical significance in the world of supercars continue to make the McLaren F1 LM an automotive legend.

Hamilton coming to Ferrari sounds a lot like a marketing and political move to me.
To try to attract high technicians (Newey?) and possibly get fewer penalties, as Hamilton is part of the "I-never-get-a-penalty-regardless-of-what-I-do" group, while Ferrari and its drivers are part of the "I-always-get-a-penalty-even-when-a-manhole-flies-into-my-face-because-it-was-not-fixed-and-destroys-my-car" group.
And possibly, as far as Elkann is concerned, to sell more cars.
Positive: Hamilton never goes to a car that cannot win.
Negative: It will be very difficult to manage two drivers like Hamilton and Leclerc in the same team.
Conclusions: My heart will always stay with Charles! I want him as world champion, no one deserves it more.
Hamilton can be second drive.
