Chef Robotics's AI-enabled robots just achieved another major milestone: more than 20M servings in production! As far as we know, this is more meals in production than any other intelligent food robotics company today! It took 581 days (or a bit over a year and half) to reach our first 10,000,000 servings and in only 155 additional days, we’ve produced another 10,000,000 servings (3.7x faster than the first 10M). This compounding is critical for Chef since there's no AI training data that one can download from the internet (as if to train a LLM). The training data has to be created from real-world data at customer sites. Overtime, this becomes a flywheel where we can continually manipulate more and more ingredients, adding and more value to our customers. Chef is one of the only AI-enabled robotics companies that is scaling robots at real-world customer sites in production environments. Does the world really belong to robots? A future scenario where a Starbucks is operated by 100 robots and just 2 humans is already a reality at the Naver 1784 tower, the headquarters of South Korean tech firm Naver and the world’s largest robotics testbed. On any given day, around 100 Rookie service bots navigate all floors of the building, delivering packages, coffee, and lunch boxes. Rookie is a cloud-based, self-driving robot that operates on the AI, Robot, and Cloud (ARC) platform, utilizing Naver Cloud and a 5G network for multi-robot intelligence. Rookie features a compartment for transporting items and is compatible with Naver’s Roboport, a dedicated robot elevator for efficient floor access. Assisting Rookie is Ambidex, a dual-armed robot designed for precision, speed, and high-payload tasks, equipped with a unique cable-driven structure for safe human interactions. Naver's research focuses on popularizing service robots, enhancing human-robot interactions, and advancing AI for robots.
