A close colleague recently sparked a conversation about the rise of data-driven marketing in healthcare. In an industry where precision and trust are paramount, it's surprising how often data analytics are underutilized or mistrusted. How did we get here? A few thoughts: Perceived Complexity. Many believe that advanced analytics tools are too complex to implement and understand, leading to hesitation in their adoption. Data Privacy Concerns. With strict regulations like HIPAA, there’s a fear that implementing robust analytics might compromise patient confidentiality. Legacy Systems. Many healthcare organizations are entrenched in outdated systems, making the transition to modern analytics seem daunting and resource-intensive. In my experience, effective data analytics can revolutionize digital marketing strategies, especially in healthcare. Here’s how: Personalized Marketing. Leveraging web analytics, healthcare providers can offer tailored content and services, enhancing patient engagement and satisfaction. Informed Decision-Making. Data-driven insights enable healthcare marketers to make more accurate predictions and decisions, improving ROI on marketing efforts. Compliance and Security. With the right platform, healthcare organizations can maintain compliance with HIPAA while gaining deep insights into patient behavior and preferences. I used to say—In a world where patient care is increasingly digital, the key to superior service lies in harnessing the power of data. In the healthcare sector, an expert in data analytics isn’t just someone who understands numbers, but someone who understands the sensitive nature of healthcare data and the importance of compliance. What are your thoughts on the challenges and opportunities of using data analytics in healthcare marketing? #mavenhealthcarechallenge @Maven Analytics Overview: Analyzing the impact of the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey conducted by the American Hospital Association (AHA) for the last 9 years. ❔ Problem: How to enhance the quality of service provided by hospitals from the survey results? 📝 Requirements: 1. Have hospitals' HCAHPS scores improved over the past 9 years? 2. Are there any specific areas where hospitals have made more progress than others? 3. Are there any major areas of opportunity remaining? 4. What recommendations can you make to hospitals to help them further improve the patient experience? 💡 Solution: 1. Calculate the increase/decrease in the values of Top Box Rating (9 or 10) & Bottom Box Rating (0-6) by YEAR. 2. Calculate the increase/decrease in the values of Top Box Rating (9 or 10) & Bottom Box Rating (0-6) by MEASURE_ID (type of service). Details: 1. There are two approaches digital health companies use when gathering reviews: 1️⃣ The Company-focused Approach: - Uses reviews as website fillers. - Focuses on quantity over quality. - Gathers feedback only to highlight the company or product. 👎🏽 2️⃣ The Customer-focused Approach: - Uses reviews to help customers feel confident and reduce friction during the buyer journey. - Focuses on quality over quantity. ✅ - Gathers feedback to improve products and services based on real customer needs, wants, and outcomes. Reviews = data. Use them to make informed decisions about how to improve your #CustomerExperience.

Hilarious healthcare marketing metric: “Cost per lead” ***Just because you CAN measure something, doesn’t necessarily mean you NEED TO. I read an article by a big, shiny healthcare marketing firm about calculating your “cost per lead”. The article was basically just showing you how to divide. 🃏 WHY would you need to know how much money you spent to ALMOST get a patient? Might be a better use of analytics to measure patients which came in from your efforts. I was laughing while reading it, so maybe I missed the point... ➡️ Measurements should provide actionable data. Read that again. Without this, you’ll have a bunch of data points that doesn't provide any direction on how to improve. It's messy, unneccessary and not how to get the best results from your programs. Stop spinning your wheels with meaningless data points. Focus on what matters: Actual results and actual revenue. #data #patientvisits #iteration #patientacquisition #datadrivendecisions #healthcaremarketing
