The news coming out of Gaza today is literally heartbreaking; our hearts are broken, into 21 more pieces. Another 21 Holy Souls ascended to heaven. Another 21 levayas. Another 21 devastated families ripped apart. ALL of the victims were in Miluim (reserve duty), most were in their 30's, with wives and children. During this darkest hour of their lives, these families will need not only untold emotional support, but financial support also. I urgently want to inform everyone of the launch of a new LifeShare initiative: Sponsor a Soldier. You can sponsor a chayal and enroll them in the LifeShare community. G-d forbid, should they fall in battle, their families will be eligible to receive up to $250,000 in immediate financial aid. Please! In honor of these 21 kedoshim, and after all the sacrifices our soldiers make to protect us, let's do what we can to help protect their families. We pray for the safety and welfare of every soldier, and we should NEVER need LifeShare.... But G-d forbid, if the need arises, we should be there for each other. Children's Protection Day on June 1: A Call to Action for Ukraine's Youngest Victims of War. On June 1, as we observe Children's Protection Day, our thoughts and actions extend to the children of Ukraine 🇺🇦, who are facing unimaginable hardships due to the ongoing war. These young souls are caught in a crisis that robs them of their innocence, safety, and dreams. 🔹 The Reality: Since the onset of the war, thousands of Ukrainian children have been displaced, orphaned, and subjected to extreme trauma. Schools, playgrounds, and homes have turned into battlegrounds, leaving children vulnerable to physical and emotional harm. 🔹 Psychological Impact: Beyond the immediate dangers, the psychological scars of war will last a lifetime. Children exposed to violence and instability are at a higher risk of developing mental health issues, including PTSD, anxiety, and depression. It is crucial to provide them with the necessary support and counseling to heal and rebuild their lives. 🔹 Education Disruption: Education is a beacon of hope for these children, yet the war has disrupted their learning. Many schools have been destroyed or repurposed for military use, forcing children to abandon their education. Online learning initiatives and temporary educational centers are essential to ensure these children continue to learn and grow. 🔹 Protection Measures: Numerous organizations are working to protect and support Ukrainian children. From providing safe shelters and medical aid to facilitating family reunifications and offering psychological support, these efforts are vital. However, more needs to be done. 🔹 How You Can Help: - Donate: Support organizations that are on the ground providing aid to children. - Advocate: Use your voice to raise awareness about the plight of Ukrainian children. - Volunteer: Offer your time and skills to support local and international efforts aimed at helping these young victims. As we champion the rights and protection of children globally, let us not forget the urgent needs of Ukrainian children. Together, we can make a difference and ensure a safer future for them. Easter is a holiday that celebrates renewal, the victory of life over death, and symbolizes kindness for many people around the world. In honor of this holiday, we invite you to perform an act of kindness and make a difference for Ukrainian children affected by the war. With nearly 6.5 million refugees from Ukraine recorded globally, and 4.9 million internally displaced, the impact of war is staggering. Over 200 schools have been destroyed, leaving approximately 900,000 Ukrainian children studying online. The Voices of Children CF's online psychologists and psychotherapists receive hundreds of requests for support from children and parents monthly. Ukrainian families face challenges as they adapt to new cities or countries, struggle to manage anxiety for family members serving in the military, and cope with the loss of loved ones. Those remaining in Ukraine experience difficulties related to sleep, apathy, and excessive aggression. Let's help to give psychological recovery to Ukrainian Children https://voices.org.ua/en/

This remembrance weekend, the sense of injustice weighs heavy. The injustice of lives lost too soon, fighting for the freedoms of themselves and others. The injustice of people killed and tortured just because a hate campaign had brought extreme predjudice of the ‘other’. And injustice that as a human race we seem to have learned not a thing in how to treat the people on this planet better. How can a Home Secretary stand and claim homelessness is a lifestyle choice? How come so many families are still struggling to the right of safety and basic healthcare? And how come that the media is still so full of language that ‘others’ people and builds conflict and not peace? A few years ago we found a long lost letter from my grandfather, and army chaplain in the Second World War, and one of the first liberators into the Belsen camp. Rev EO Sutton wrote in 1945: ““It may be of help to some to have the word of a Methodist Chaplain upon the reports and photographs of German concentration camps captured by British troops. I have seen one of these camps. I can only attest that reports and photographs make no exaggeration. There is no need for me to describe again these shocking scenes. They are in a class by themselves, beyond any horror of battlefield or bombing. Let there be no doubt about it, these camps are not atrocity stories, but abominable facts. Dead and dying, fear and terror, evil and cruelty. I do not desire to enter into anything of a controversial nature. But these camps must not be left out of our thinking” Let’s use this Remembrance Day to honour the few who gave for the many, and to remember the results of what happens when people seek division and not peace #remembranceday #blessedarethepeacemakers

We are back. More events already in planning stage
Proud whisky enthusiast. Corporate & private functions, utilising the joys of whisky to connect people & have fun. A business coach / mentor, that gets you curious again by changing mindsets of decision makers.
We are taught that "patience is a virtue". It is 2 months almost to the day, since we were due to host our previous #whiskytasting event. The horrific events of October 7th have been overtaken by a war and funerals. Families - ours included - are stressed, as our friends and relatives serve in the army. There is a battle that I can fight on the home front. And it is a battle that my kids (who are serving) have encouraged me to engage in. Don't let Hamas dictate how I run my life, how I practice my hobbies, or how I put a smile on the faces of others. So, we are returning (with due caution and understanding) to hosting #whiskyevents. Our first port of call is in Jerusalem. The details are below. My thanks to Netanel Shafier for asking me to return for a second gig. #standwithisrael #whiskylife Whisky Tasters

Today is Memorial Day —a time to honor those who served and sacrificed their lives while fighting in the U.S. Armed Forces. It’s a holiday steeped in somber American history and tradition. Weekend trips and barbecues are also arranged to balance out the somberness of the day and welcome the summer. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, and holding family gatherings. Towns and cities across the country host grand Memorial Day parades every year, often featuring senior veterans and military personnel. It's also important to shed light on the reality of veterans who are homeless. According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, the number of veterans experiencing homelessness had increased by 7% between 2022 and 2023. On a single night in January 2023, 98% of veterans experienced homelessness as individuals, and of those individuals, 30% had experienced chronic patterns of homelessness. Veterans are not unlike youth when it comes to homelessness. They must navigate the lack of affordable housing and economic hardship that everyone faces, in addition to the challenges brought on by multiple and extended deployments. Taken together, these factors create a population that deserves–but can often struggle with–housing stability. Homelessness hits people of all ages in any community. Let's use this day of remembrance as a call-to-action for all Americans to remind Congress just how serious this issue has been for all our communities. Let yourself be counted and your voice be heard.
