One of our favorite events of the year is just a few months away! Find Your Cause brings together local organizations and passionate volunteers who are ready for hands-on, skills-based, and board service opportunities. Grassroots organizations from the South, West, and Northwest Sides will highlight the incredible work they do in their communities and connect attendees to meaningful opportunities to engage and volunteer. Attendees can learn South Side history by catching one of our complementary shuttles from the West or Northwest Sides, enjoy wellness and meditation activities, and treat yourself to a scoop of Ida’s Artisan Ice Cream while discovering your civic love language. Pop quiz: how can you find your dream job / dream client? TLDR: positive vibe checks and no #twinning. I just went to a CreativeMornings at Wacom and was totally inspired by Britt Howard of Portland Garment Factory. She was spitting ideas like a soda, bubbling frothy and fun energy that was as effective as caffeine and sugar 🦄 . She mentioned how she really wanted to work with companies that were outside her echo chamber, as that's where the needle is going to move on issues close to her heart. And I loved that. Why? Because I think it's SO easy to stay with what's easy. What's comfortable. But true growth comes from being uncomfortable. Trying something new. Expanding your self-imposed boundaries. It's one of the reasons I adore working with multiple agencies* (intros below). Because I get exposed to different personalities, ways of working, industries, and skills. At 45, I'm am 100% still learning and it's why I'm not bored despite being a copywriter going on two decades now! Whether you're looking to work for a company or hire one, whether you're a solo or entrepreneur or working for a corporate behemoth, getting along is foundational. Do they pass this pop quiz: 1. passes your vibe check (comfort) 2. pushes your boundaries (discomfort)? But isn't that contrary? 🤔 How can you get both? Quick answer: don't hire a mirror. You don't want to work in or with an echo chamber. Take the job or hire the company based on how you can GROW. 🌿 So we're not twinning 👬 , we're learning. Pick a person or place that who compliments you. Someone who lifts you up. Whose strengths allow you to launch yourself to the next level. They can and should be better at some things than you. Let others shine. 🌟 It only makes you brighter. 🌟 --- These are the three Portland agencies I work with the most frequently: Murmur Creative - focused in the food 🍲 realm, they are the perfect combination of talented and effective, producing comprehensive branding that impacts. SBD Agency - with a lock on home 🏠 and design, they're creative and kind, crafting gorgeous visuals supported by strong content (ahem - that's me!) all the while being super relationship focused. Upswept Creative - self described online marketing 🤓 nerds, these people keep it real with authentic talk, well planned strategies, and consistent concrete output. They ALL pass the vibe check 🌈 . I *really* enjoy working with EACH of these agencies.

🔗🔗🔗 How important do you think it is to make meaningful connections when growing a business?🔗🔗🔗 One of my clients ( Now friend 😍 😍 😍 Laura Igwe 🌷) deserves a massive shout-out because her business is all about meaningful connections. If you believe in building your business through community, you'll want to know all about her app. I'm absolutely in love with the app, Kurero. ( check it out Kurero ) It's an incredible platform for building relationships, creating interest-based groups, and offering mutual support and advice. The voice feature, in particular, creates a stronger connection than text alone. As a personal branding photographer, I've learned that to grow a business, you need to find your tribe. The people who inspire, uplift, and amplify your message. This not only fuels your business but also supports your mental health on the entrepreneurial journey, which can often feel lonely. I've found that my business grew exponentially when I made the effort to connect with others, offer my support, and show I cared about their growth. That's why I have started my own networking events, where I've witnessed people flourishing and forming incredible relationships and being on a business journeys together through the power of connections. It's so satisfying to witness what my events has done to help others. 📅 Save the Date! Therefore.... Don't let this opportunity pass you by. THE "Headshot Networking Event" on April 18th. Those who've attended previous events can attest to the powerful and meaningful connections made at the event. 👉 Details Here https://lnkd.in/evTPyDAW ALSO!!!! Special Offer! I'm excited to integrate Kurero into this event. Attendees will become part of a dedicated Kurero community, instantly expanding their network and facilitating further personal and business growth. Come to my next event and see for yourself what's possible. Skilled in Community, Content, & Course Creation | Meta Alum | Author: Church Communications: Methods and Marketing
Stop trying to "promote" your church events. Start solving problems for your congregation. Outreach gets a bad rap when it feels like "convincing people to show up." But that's not how effective churches operate. Instead, make your events and programs so helpful at meeting needs that members feel compelled to participate. Here are 7 steps to make your outreach more engaging: 1. Identify core struggles your congregation faces. 2. Design events to address those specific needs. 3. Use content to highlight the issue and provide resources. 4. Show examples of how others found solutions through your programs. 5. Ask interested people to share a bit about their situation. 6. Follow up to explain how your solution could help them. 7. Simply ask, "Based on what I've shared, do you think this event could benefit you?" You'll know it's working when people say: "Yes, I'm looking forward to it!" Remember—you're not promoting. You're helping.
