Best advice I heard this week came from Adam Nash, CEO of Daffy: "To me a great product strategy is dependent on a great company strategy. Great product strategies fit upward into the company strategy and subdivide downward into different products and features that everyone's working on. When you see product strategies that don't make sense, they're either following a company strategy that doesn't make a lot of sense or they're misaligned." The longer I work, the more I'm convinced that all points of company tension can be resolved by clearly answering two questions: what are you building and who are you building it for? Everything else flows from there. Great interview with Brett Berson on First Round Capital's In Depth podcast!
Thanks for listening! 🙌
I’d add “why do they care?” after “who are you building it for?”
Thanks Chris Burgner, we are lucky to have him as our leader.
Chris Burgner what about the “why” you’re building it? Wouldn’t that inform a lot of how you decide to solve the problem?
