The Vanta EMEA team brought the 🔥 to QBRs this week in Dublin! We have an incredible team on the ground here in Europe. I’ve also had many insightful conversations this month with folks who have built some of the greatest SaaS businesses on the continent. A few of their bits of advice and wisdom include: - Every business, country, and segment comes with its own nuances. Don’t copy someone else’s strategy. Leverage benchmarks but know your business will be unique. - Many SaaS companies entering Europe repeat the same mistakes time and time again. Leverage your local friends, investors and contacts to see around corners. - Compliance and regulation are taken very seriously in Europe. This should mean our opportunity here is tremendous. - Don’t settle. Go big, think broad, be ambitious. If you don’t, someone else will. Thank you EMEA team for your hospitality! I’ve posted throughout this journey of planning our first conference(s), and it’s been one heck of a ride. I’ve never been the sharpest person out there. I’m the study two weeks, get an 88 type of human. But I throw everything I have at things. So that’s what happened. And I’ll never lose that moment when my plane landed one morning and I saw an email from Chick-fil-A, with CEO Andrew Cathy agreeing to keynote. The whirlwind began after that. In the months since, I think what I’ll always take away is the response. How much people gravitated toward the collective vision. What that answered is what you had to ask on day one: Does the industry need this? I guess the answer is yes, which is an overwhelming thought. Early last week, we crossed our initial registration goal. We’re now well over it. Women in Leadership Event: Sold out (three separate times). Sweetwater after party: Sold out (we added more seats for this final week). Hotel block: Sold out, opened a new one across the street, sold that one out, too. Another Broken Egg Brunch After Dinner Party: Sold out Honestly, I’m not sure any of this has registered yet, speaking of registration. I may sit back a week after, take a day off or something, and let that sink in. It’s been rewarding as hell alongside the most involved and difficult thing I’ve ever been a part of. And now it’s time to go out there and actually bring it to life.
